Didn't want to pay extra for an extra apartment fob, so this worked great. Both apartment and work have older systems so this works with both. Incidentally tried to dupe a friend's that lives at a newer place (they wanted their sibling to be able to get in to feed the cats) and it wouldn't read it, probably a different frequency or encrypted. Not a big deal to me, just would have been a bonus.

So far it’s working fine. Sometimes I have to scan the same card twice to get it to code, but it’s not a problem. Just make sure you have the right device for the type of card you have. Not all swipe cards are compatible. It’s extremely easy to use and codes quickly. And for under 20 bucks I think it’s worth it for my purposes. I took a star because it is chintzy and time will tell how well it holds up. And use it with good intentions.

I bought this to make copies of my neighborhood gym key. Instructions are very easy with all the beeps, and only 2 buttons needed to make a copy. I looked into making copies at HomeDepot and for 1 key it was like $30 so for like 6 cards and 6 fobs this was a steal!! DO MAKE SURE ITS THE FREQUENCY MATCHES 125 KHz!!!

Cards and fobs that came with handheld do not work at all. Tried both many times on different days, holding in multiple positions. But bought a 10-pack of sticky tabs from another vendor, and they work great. I'm using a couple of sticky tabs on the back of my phone and gave a couple to my son. Since handheld device is inexpensive, it is worth the price because of being able to use the sticky tabs bought at the same time , again, from another vendor. Still didn't seem right to give it more than two stars.
