Your helmet saved my wife's life. She was involved in a accident on a bike were a vehicle traveling @ 50+mph struck her from behind and ejected her 40 feet. She did receive a traumatic brain injury from the incident, but she has made good recovery and continues to do so. I would give this helmet 50 stars if i could. I was riding my bike on side walk. There was a tree limb hanging over side walk. I ducked a bit to avoid the limb and was clotheslined by a power pole support cable. The cable hit me across side of helmet knocking me backwards off bike. I landed on me hip and the back of my head whipped back and hit side walk extremely hard.i walked away without even a concussion. Had a bit of head ache that night and that was all. Seems to do the trick. The reviews regarding accidents and folks' survival is what tipped me to purchase. This thing is sturdy and a bit heavier than a normal bicycle helmet but I feel confident I will do okay in the event of an accident. It also comes with alternative padding on the inside which is nice if you need to make it a little bit smaller/snugger (i didn't, but I appreciated it). Update 5/29/2018 - I've had this helmet for a while but finally I was biking, hit a trolley track and totally wrecked by bike. Bike pretty banged up, a few bruises, but my head very clearly smacked the ground and this guy kept my head fully intact! 100% happy with the purchase now. This thing is sturdy and will do the real work - protecting you from even fairly serious wrecks. Would and probably will buy again! ... show more

This helmet feels much more protective than my racy looking Bell helmet. I’ve been intending to get this style for quite a while. Finding this one at this price seemed too good to be true. The review stories of life saving experiences and the ease of return with Amazon Prime are why I bought it. My head measurements are right in the middle of the Medium size range and in fact it fits perfectly. I’ve almost been killed by a spaced out driver during broad daylight and I have very high end flashing lights. Fortunately his window was partially open so my scream of Nooooooooooo was heard just in time. Be careful out there and wear a real helmet like this one. ... show more

Okay, I've lived most of my life being teased for the (large) size of my head. I like the look of this helmet, but thought that it was going to be much lower profile than it truly is. The following exchange with a co-worker summarizes this perfectly. Co-Worker (while helmet was sitting on my desk at work): Is that your helmet for your scooter? Me: Yeah. Co-Worker: That's really cool. I like it. Me (as I'm putting the helmet on): Thanks. Co-Worker (after seeing me with the helmet on): I retract what I just said about the helmet. Me/Co-Worker: Laughed hysterically. In short, this helmet is big and does not hug the head closely...but maybe it's just my huge head! ... show more

Bought this helmet thinking I'd look cool... Especially cause it looks kinda cool, simple and spartan. But wow, in the large size, this is one unattractive helmet once on my head. That said, it has a ton of padding, is EXTREMELY thick and likely will be very protective in the event of a crash. But an ugly, large, uncomfortable helmet is less likely to be worn... so ...time to get another helmet for me. ... show more

This helmet arrived on time and it was packaged very well. It came with extra padding, but little adjustment was needed for a proper fit. It looks great and it feels comfortable. I would definitely recommend it! Keep in mind that it’s still a soft, plastic texture. There is no actual bamboo, it’s just a simulated finish. It’s rated for use with biking and skating, so it’s exactly what I needed. Don’t hesitate if you’re interested! It’s a great helmet. ... show more

So far so good! Be sure to measure your head to pick the size, as the helmet is very snug and would be uncomfortable in the wrong size.
