Description

A roll cage is a safety feature installed in a vehicle and is used in environments, where a high danger of rolling is likely, such as car racing. The idea behind a roll cage is that if the vehicle rolls, it will protect the occupants. While parts of the vehicle are damaged or crushed, the roll cage prevents damage on both of the driver and the passenger compartment, creating a safe pocket. This safety feature is designed to work with other safety features, such as crumple zones and seat belts to ensure protection in accidents. Installation of a roll bar also has another major benefit, which is to stiffen the chassis of a vehicle. A stiffer chassis is equivalent to better handling, braking, and overall feel of driving experience. • Looks great! Please read first before buying!
Does not come with instructions. Seller will tell you to have a professional install it. There are no Miata professionals around and if I took it to a shop they would want instructions also. But that being said. Looks great mounted! Well worth the time I put into it installing it. And look a lot better than the one I see out there. I did not have to bend the tube to get mine to mount like the other guy. Installation tips: Since there were not instructions I had to go on YouTube to find people installing role bars on Miata’s. There were a few video’s available to help me disassemble the area that the bar mount to. Now they were not installing this particular bar but it showed me how and what to remove. I had to remove everything around the seat belt towers only. Not hard! Once everything was removed the bar mounted into place with no problem. You will have to get some extra hardware for another mount. Mine didn’t come with it. What I mean is there is another mount that that slides back behind the seatbelt towers that needs a bolt, washers and nut. When mounted, the bare is held in by 6 bolts to the seatbelt towers. Now you will have to CUT THE PLASTIC to get the plastic molding to fit back in to place. Not hard, I was able to eye ball it. I used a wiz wheel and a file, but anything to cut plastic works. It took me over an hour to do it, taking my time. Only thing I can say is pay attention to the clips. The plastic have little clips that clips the plastic to the frame then prying the plastic cover they might stay in the frame. Just pull them out of the frame and crimp them back onto the plastic. And watch out with the push pins, there are 2 one on each side. Finishing touches: The original wind deflector behind the seats will not mount back up because the bar is in the way. I had to re-drill the mounting holes on the deflector a ½ over. If you have some mechanical abilitie, paitence and the tools you can mount this. I was over whelemed at first but was supprized on how easy it was. ... show more

  • No instructions but Really Easy
Installation is actually very easy, remove seat belt pillar bolt and assembly remove plastic seat belt tower cover. place spacer in the top of pillar,( I had to grind off the top 3/8" of my pillar to allow spacer be flush with the top.) (( cover car interior and roof from sparks !!!!)) I had to use a 4 foot clamp the squeeze the 2 pillars together by about a 1/4" to allow roll bar bolts to fit in. drop roll bar on top of seat belt pillars and reinstall seatbelt bolt back in place but without the factory spacer. tighten them down, then put the nut and washer on the fixed roll bar bolts from inside seatbelt pillar. now drill through the back bracket of roll bar right through the front and back of pillar, and insert the supplied long bolt and nut, ( I added a larger washer on front and back) (I had to drill as bracket was way out of alignment with the rear hole on my car and there is no front hole) this was really easy and it looks great that's it easy and looks great ... show more

  • Sadly I see a lot of people saying ‘Not a perfect fit! ’ ‘Was hard to install’
This is an accessory! A piece of jewelry for your car! Treat it as such. Sadly I see a lot of people saying ‘Not a perfect fit!’ ‘Was hard to install’... guys. It’s a third party, aftermarket accessory. If you do not have even the slightest skills in taking apart and putting back together stuff, by yourself, don’t get it! It’s true it’s not a perfect fit. I had to bend a screw maybe by an 8th of an inch. Oh nooooo! My life has ended. Come on. And true, I had to make a little cut a piece of plastic to make the panels fit. It took me maybe 3 hours to install this beauty! And it fits really well, seeing as it is not the Mazda Factory making these. I’m really saddened to see your product with so few stars, because people are too incompetent to think for them selves. There are no instructions, because it is really straight forwards. You untighten 4 screws on each side of the car, put the thing in and tighten the screws again. A little oversimplified, granted, but really. It’s not that hard. If you don’t know how to unscrew a screw, don’t own a Miata. And if you do own one, and want this? Go to a body shop and have them do it. Piece. And thank you Auto Dynasty, for this awesome roll bar ... show more

  • and actually wasn't a perfect fit for my glass top (sits on top of ...
Wasn't an exact fit, had to hammer it down to fit the screws into the towers, and actually wasn't a perfect fit for my glass top (sits on top of it so I just put foam to make sure I don't crack my rear glass when I go on bumps. Have to remove panels and seatbelt harness to fit it in but easy job. Looks great and makes the car look aesthetic. I wouldn't say that it is necessarily a roll bar since it barely even clears your head like a few inches. Likes to whizz on high speeds too. Not sure how I'm feeling about it but I would recommend for looks not necessarily for anything else in my opinion. ... show more

  • Very slight modification needed
It did install once you get the blocks it comes with in the pockets, you have to cut the bolts off that are part of the unit these are supposed to line up to the inside bolt holes, the one the brace bolts too, but once you get that sorted and trim the trim everything lined up and went in, instructions would be huge, even I picture of the install steps. Looks great very solid once installed. You reuse your seat belt spacers. I would have given 5 stars but no instructions, and the cuting of the inside bolts. ... show more

  • Will NOT fit a 93 Mazda Miata MX5.
Will NOT fit a 1993 Mazda Miata MX5. Too short. Bolt fits on one side, but will not fit on other side. Very disappointed. (I looked at description before I bought this and it said it would fit my car.) If you look at picture, you see it's just a little bit off of where it needs to be. I would not buy again. ... show more

  • Three Stars
Does not come with instructions, and you will have to make modification to the car to install.

  • Excellent!
Unlike so many of the Miata roll bars, this is heavy gauge steel plus additional crossbar for stability. Also, not that it says "stability bar. This will not protect you in a rollover. I suspect it is for cornering and "rattles".
