I bought this knowing full well after reading several comments, that there would be problems with using the 10 second advance or “rewind” function. It seems that all of the other cases or covers, had a similar problem. I live and die being able to breeze through the commercials, especially with sporting events. In order to remedy this, I used an exacto knife to trim about an inch of the parts of the cover that extend over the edge of the top part of the remote. Not sure how it will hold up over time, but it definitely works. I can now rest a little easier about not damaging the remote and have a remote that is now easier to handle. I second all of the complaints about this incredibly anti-ergonomically correct remote, put out by Apple, no less. ... show more

    • Slick looking case that gets the job done with extra added benefits!

The biggest reason I got this case was for a different reason than most probably. I really disliked how when I picked up the Siri Remote I never knew which side was up and which side was down without inspecting it deeply by looking at it. Super frustrating. So for that problem, this case REALLY solved the problem. The extra benefits are what really boosted this to a 5-star product. The soft rubbery touch is really nice to hold and use. I've dropped this thing several times from fairly high up and the glass track pad has survived without issue each time. Finally, the lanyard was an extra extra bonus. I never thought that I would use it, but I can tell you that before I had this case it was a never ending journey to find the lost remote. With the white case and the lanyard I haven't run in to this problem once since then. Highly recommend this product. ... show more

So far so great. I know there are Apple purists who believe strongly in Au Natural Apple Products - no cases, covers, etc. Aesthetically, I get it, I do, but practically, gee whiz, give me a cover that will protect the phone, pad, laptop, and now... remote. We bought this after dropping our oh-so-slippery Apple remote for the millionth time (I'm guessing here, it could've been the thousandth time), and this grippy little cover has solved several "first world" issues. 1. We rarely drop the remote anymore or inadvertently play the game where it starts to slip so you grab harder and then it flies across the room. 2. The remote doesn't slide off, across, down, etc., things it is put on - it mostly stays put. 3. Bonus: We don't embarrass ourselves by unknowingly holding the remote back-to-front and trying to scroll or click on stuff that wasn't intended for scrolling and clicking. We like the bright blue/aqua-ish color and the quality seems good. Plus we still seem to be able to charge the remote while the cover is on. We'll update the review if anything goes wrong, but...so far, so great. ... show more

The case is pretty much exactly as it appears in the pictures. It's easy to put on and remove. Most importantly, though, it performs its primary function well: It makes the Apple TV remote grippy enough and thick enough to prevent it from easily sliding off the arms of furniture and slipping between the cushions! It also makes it somewhat easier to distinguish between the two ends of the remote. My only critique is that the addition of a discernible texture on the handheld end would make orienting the remote by feel much easier. However, the lanyard serves that purpose well enough, if you're using it. ... show more

Anyone who has an Apple TV knows how ridiculous the little remote shape is. Invisible in the dark and so small it’s too dainty for men’s hands plus you can lose it easily, little tactile indication of up or down, easy to damage if dropped. This little cover is the solution. More grippy. Fits better in the hand. No confusion regarding orientation. Protected if you drop it. Color versions easy to find in dark. We got the white one for maximum night visibility but yellow, blue, pink would all probably do. To address some other reviews: does not block touchpad functionality. We can skip forward and back fine. Also there is no odor out of the box, but that is sometimes color dependent. One complaint: non Apple lightning cables often have bulkier tips but the opening for charging on the case is sized exactly to the Apple cable. My larger cable by the bed tends to come loose. So I have to charge it in the other room with my Apple cable. Not a big deal since the remote charges quickly and stays charged for weeks, but still a larger opening would be nice. ... show more

Fits OK and seems like it will work but smells HORRIBLE! Hope that will go away. Your fingers stink after touching it. Smells just like you expect a low-end factory in China to smell. It is very possible to make silicone items that don't reek. Would not buy again. EDITED 2017-01-19 Not changing my score because of this, but seller contacted me to request I review product the day after I had posted the above. I replied and said I had already reviewed, negatively, with explanation. They seem genuinely interested in fixing the smell problem, and have refunded me without my asking, and without requiring a return on the product. Seems like they want to do the right thing.
