Randomly chose this red light therapy product. I liked that the pad was bendable, and it has a Velcro elastic band, to secure the pad to any area of the body. Plus, the price seemed reasonable to me. This winter (2022-2023) I developed pain and inflammation in both knees, and needed something else to help me, rather than just a physio once a week, as I could not crouch or stand up afterward without a large amount of pain. Once I got the pad, I used it daily, twice a day, for 30 minutes each time, at P4 (strongest light) level. I could feel the improvement in my knees daily, as well. I am at a point where I use it for maintenance only, as my knees do not ache anymore! It also proved to be helpful for my mother's right shoulder pain, when visiting her this summer. I had the pad wrapped around her shoulder every evening before going to sleep, and by the 7th day, she could do her arm rotations without any pain! One more thing both of us had noticed - it relaxes, so you sleep really well. I loved this product and rated it 5 stars when I got it few months ago, and it cured my tendinitis. so I decided to buy as a gift and got the XL … clicked on the same product I bought (from purchase history) only to find out it’s not the same. In the XL, you only have one option of mixed red light and infra red. Many times I don’t want infra red and only want red but can’t go that … the small pad has them separate and together. ..They should clearly mention that in the description. also there is a problem with the size they are showing … I got the XL size this time and the picture is very deceiving showing a women laying on a pad. That women is TINY 😅 … The size is much much smaller than what’s shown on the picture! They need to correct that!!! Original review: It works! I pulled a muscle because I lifted heavy furniture and this healed it After 2 sessions of red light 20 mn each over couple days. Not sure what it does but it worked. Normally when I pull back muscle it take a week + to heal … I wish they included lore directions as to what light to use for what overall conditions, duration and frequency. ... show more

    • Abysmally low NIR output

I received a nominal Feangli nominal size 16" x 8" red + NIR LED pad. It has 120 discreet illumination devices embedded in it. I measured surface contact NIR irradiance of my this pad via a Walfront LSS122 NIR test meter. With the pad set at full power output there's a range of NIR intensity emitted by various LEDs on it. Most are emitting only 2.6-4.3 mW/cm2, and a small number of them are as low as 0.6 mW/cm2. But even if 100% of the LEDs could put out 4.3 mW/cm2, that's a paltry intensity not likely to result in any significant photobiomodulation (PBM) effects. Worse, these tiny light sources are located as a 15 x 8 array with 15/16" spacings. Thus, there's absolutely zero irradiance emitted over at least 95% of the pad's contact area. So don't expect to ever feel any tell-tale infrared warming of your skin while using this pad. For comparison, when oriented perpendicular to the sun's rays, my sunning bench in central NJ received 6 mW/cm2 at 4 pm on Nov 18th while the sun was behind low cloud cover. It would've been a waste of my time to use the sunning bench for the purpose of PBM at that time, as I could feel absolutely no warming whatsoever of the bare skin on my face, neck and arms. FYI, in 2021 a medical study ( PMID: 34698043 ) reported that the NIR irradiance "sweet spot" for PBM is 25-35 mW/cm2. On Nov 17th I was able to get 36 mW/cm2 of NIR via my sunning bench, and I could feel the warmth resulting from the combined NIR + FIR rays that I received. TIP If you're serious about artificial NIR exposure on a cloudy day, then consider getting one of those red + NIR floodlamps that screw into a standard light bulb receptacle. I own a pair of those of the same model; 18 LEDs radially clustered on two concentric circles. The floodlamp has an outside dia just under 4 ¾". In contact with its lens, I've measured NIR as high as 39 mW/cm2 ( right over an LED ), and as low as single digit mW/cm2 ( at the spaces between LEDs ). ... show more

I thought the lights were good and seen to do the job but the cord is not long enough. Just to sit in a chair and reach the plug was almost not possible and seemed to keep pulling it out of the plug socket. Due to the short plug giving it a 3 star.

I really like this so far. Much better than anything else I’ve seen. What made me chose this one is the number of lights, the optional belt, and optional wireless aspect. The only negative is that after the timer turns off the device, I need to completely unplug it before ever starting another session. So, if I use it on my lower back and then switch it to my upper back, I need to unplug it, wait for the screen to flicker and then go blank, and then plug it back in to start back up.
