Description

Reach Barrier DD24125 Reflective Air² Insulation features two layers of sealed air which are laminated between two layers of durable reflective polyethylene. This gives Reflective Air² the ability to retain its air longer and provides excellent insulation and sound reduction. Reflective Air² meets ASTM standards and complies with Building Code. The insulation roll is easy to install because there is no mess or fumes and will not cause itchy skin. Reach Barrier's Reflective Air² Insulation is ideal for: attic spaces, exterior and interior walls, interior masonry walls, radiant floors, metal and steel buildings, knee walls, crawl spaces, garage ceilings and many other applications where insulation is needed. This insulation roll is 125-feet long, 24-inches high and .03-inches thick. Reach Barrier's reflective insulation products are one of the most versatile and energy efficient insulation products available. Radiant (reflective) barriers are installed in attics, walls, roof decking and flooring. Most newly constructed homes contain radiant barrier insulation because of the proven effectiveness to decrease energy usage and cost by reducing summer heat gain and winter heat loss. Installing a radiant barrier may be the lowest-cost improvement that can produce the greatest overall reduction in energy usage and expense. • Outstanding. Lowered My Garage Ceiling Temperature by 20 Degrees.
This exceeded my expectations. I used it to cover the ceiling of my garage and it made an incredible difference. On a hot day I measured the ceiling temperature to be 106 degrees Farenheit (41 Celsius) without Reach Barrier and 86f (30c) with Reach Barrier. I was not expecting such a dramatic change. The average daytime garage air temperature itself is now about 10f cooler (5c) and my air conditioner is far more effective. I'm very happy. The installation itself was pretty simple. I covered a little over 500 square feet (50 square meters) by myself in about 4 hours. If I had someone to hand me tools, move ladders, reload staplers, cut tape, etc. I could have finished in half the time. I had no problems at all. It's very light weight and easy to move, but stiff enough to hold itself in place once wedged between the ceiling joists. Stapling it to the ceiling was quick and easy with a hammer tracker. I will update my review once I asses winter temperatures. ... show more

  • Works great!
We used this to insulate the upstairs of our cabin. It is a sleeping loft and we have a limited amount of head room, so we needed thin. It worked great! We have a ridge vent, but no soffit vents, so we were nervous on what to use. After a lot of research we decided this would allow the appropriate breathing and moisture control while still insulating. It has been great! We kept a gap downstairs to allow air flow behind the insulation so we don't get condensation. The humidity does get a little high in the loft with the insulation, but vents easily and hold the heat/cool wonderfully. We're very happy with the product. It was very easily to install, feels very durable, and is working perfectly. ... show more

  • This stuff works if you use it right!
This stuff really works. Made a hude difference in my metal-roofed shop. Make sure you have an air gap, otherwise it will conduct the heat, not reflect radiant heat. Also seal it up well. It will make a tremendous difference.

  • Really helps with hot garage
We got this to line the inside of our garage door. It faces south and gets really hot in the Summer. It seems to be helping a lot. We have hit 105 so far and it has kept the garage from getting super hot.
