Got this pair in today. 25Sept14 Awesome Bans. So real quick, they're big yes, but not like clown size shades. I read a review that said the polarized ones were heavy so they slide of the nose when looking down. Well, i took a chance and nope! They are light, not heavy at all. I think some people try to compare it with little frugal shades they might own. The glass makes the view clear., they hug my sides so i love the fact that you don't have sun coming in through the sides of the sunglasses. As far as feeling cheap? They are made of plastic so of course they feel light and cheapy, but they are actually nice and sturdy. Mine came in a brown leather textured case instead of the smooth black case shown. I do prefer the brown one they sent. Looks nice. Also, i know some reviews metioned the their shade were made in china? well, mine say italy in the inside leg, and mine don't "squeak" when i open them or close the legs up. This review is from a guy. I went into a glasses store to try on Ray Bans, I ended up liking these the best for my oval face shape. I found the other ray bans like the 55m RB2132 and the RB2140 to be way to small. Additionally, the RB2140 slant downwards on your face, and definitively doesn't look good on my kind of face. The lenses are incredible on these (got the green) which maintain natural color tones and reduce a little glare; the polarization further reduces glare. I already got a small scratch on them though by dropping them. From other peoples perspective, the lenses just look dark on your face, usually can't see the eyes. Although they look dark on your face, while wearing them, they definitively don't seem dark and I can see very clearly. The style is slick, it's got the large coverage area of something like aviators, but it incorporates the underlying style of WayFarers. My girlfriend liked these the best on me. In general, I recommend these over the other models for larger faces and oval faces. ... show more

These sunglasses are pretty sweet! I bought these in the 60 mm version and returned them cause they were way too big (free shipping and free returns made it easy). I noticed there was also a 56 mm version which I ordered soon after. These fit perfectly and look amazing. If you read reviews of people having to return them cause of size, just know there's also a smaller version (although in less color options and a polarized version is not available). Also, these are legit for sure, the bar code tag says they were sold to/through amazon by Luxottica, which owns/produces the Ray-Ban brand and a few others. I also compared them side to side at a Sunglass Hut and at they were exactly the same(the logos, etching, etc). The only thing that is slightly different is the case they come in. One last thing, these vary in price a lot week to week or even day to day. I've seen them between 94 and 130. So if you're patient you can get them cheaper certain days. ... show more

    • A classy upgrade/replacement for large heads thinking they have to wear Holbrook XLs

If you're looking to stop wearing Oakley Holbrook XLs, but felt they were about the only decent sunglasses for your large head, I have great news. These are basically the perfect Ray-Ban replacement for that same size, and similar (but, better imo) look. Tried for weeks to purchase a custom version of these on the Ray-Ban website, but holy hell does their website suck. So many errors that customer service would tell me were their site's generic explanation that some piece wasn't actually in stock for customization. Finally gave up after six weeks, and got these Bordeaux/Dark Violet version here, even if the website is cheaper. The price difference was worth the much faster shipping and zero headaches. Also, the Bordeaux/Dark Violet look great if you are tired of boring black sunglasses. Still very understated while being slightly more elevated by not being the same color everyone else is wearing. It's insane how hard it is to find pictures of people wearing this color (and most non-black colors) online, so just trust me, they look great. Or, maybe I shouldn't say that, as part of their great appeal is how few men wear non-black sunglasses. lol ... show more

My dad used to have Ray Ban sun glasses and loved them so much. He knew everything about them and shared some of his knowledge with me. Understandably, Ray Ban does have products that are made in Thailand and China from what I've read so I would not have had a major issue not seeing the "Made in Italy" stamp. However, Ray Ban should have a laser etched RB on the left lense and the Ray Ban P logo should be etched in as well. This pair does not have either. The Ray Ban P logo (which if wearing is the right lense) is like a sticker and the left lense where the RB should be is nonexistent. I do love the look of these glass however, if I am going to pay this much for quality sunglasses, I'd hope they would be authentic. Not to mention, the box is pretty worn, thrashed and flimsy. It looks like there are others who were not duped who returned this as well. I did request for a replacement and I hope when it arrives, I can update this review in a positive fashion. ... show more

My last experience with sunglasses was through my optometrist. I usually don't buy glasses from an optometrist, but I had some insurance money and thought I could get a good deal. To make a long story short, it was not a good experience. So, I was delighted with this whole experience. Amazon delivered, as always, in a timely manner. The sunglasses are well made, fit me great, the price was right, and best of all, they are a great experience when I put them on. I love the brown polarized lens. They give everything such a fairy tale feel. The colors are almost florescent they are so bright. I couldn't be happier. I would definitely buy Ray-Ban again. ... show more
