This is a great bat for practice for my son. It allows him to have the length and weight of his game bat but the skinnier barrel helps to develop better hand eye coordination. It was hard at first because it was harder to connect with the smaller barrel. But now he is drilling the ball and it has some great pop too so he can actually see what the ball will do. ... show more

I actually ordered this for a friend's 6 year old son. She had gone to a sporting goods store and they sold her a bat that should have been for a 12 to 14 year old. She sent me a video of her son taking BP and I noticed right off the bat was was too heavy for him.
