  • My favorite game, and the game is finally fixed!!!
The game is finally fixed!!! The is one of my all time favorite games, but through a series of moves after high school and in the following years of college my copy got lost and I have been trying to get ahold of the game. Some may know other may not but the original release of Puerto Rico 1897 back in October 2022, had missing coffee tiles, the text was missing from the buildings and the rules had several misprints. But I am happy to report that the issues have now been fixed and the game is just like I remember it. It is super fun and I would recommend it to anyone! ... show more

  • Fixed Issues - Great Product
The issues of not having coffee tiles or English words not being on the front of the tiles was fixed in the version I got. It looks like the boxes have been reused but the contents are in a shrink wrapped packet. I was holding off buying until this was fixed but I’m 100% satisfied with the purchase now. The box is totally fine too. It uses those side stickers like Villainous boxes use. I sort of hate those, but they came off without issue. ... show more

  • Printing error
Wish I had read the Q and A here before I ordered the game. There is a printing error of 16 fruit instead of 12 and 4 coffee instead of 8. Makes the game unplayable. 😔

  • Contact Ravensburger for coffee tiles
This printing has four extra fruit tiles instead of the correct coffee tiles. I contacted the publisher, it's a known problem and they are supposedly sending out the missing coffee tiles. Not a mistake that Amazon can correct. The game itself is the classic, rethemed slightly to a later date that does not involve slave labor. No change in rules. The building tiles do not have complete descriptions on them like the original had, you will need to refer to the rules to see what they do. ... show more

  • I got a complete set
I got a complete set, everything seems to be fixed from the printing error.

  • Bad rules, wrong premise...
First, wrong premise. Puerto Rico never stopped being a Spanish colony in 1897. In fact, Spain signed it away to the US after the Spanish-American War. Second: Game rules are incomplete and there are plenty of printing errors (at least on my copy). Stick with the original, if you have it.

  • Despite the defects I love this version of the game
This edition is the first copy I have owned and played of the game and I love it. When I heard that the Strategy Cards from Twilight Imperium 3E were copied from this game, I knew I had to check it out. After reading the reviews of this edition I was aware of the defects, but I bought it anyway. I learned how to play the game from watching videos so I never read the rule book and as far as the misprinted coffee tiles I got the replacements in about a month and a black sharpie was enough to make do with until they arrived. When I look at pictures of the older editions and compare to this edition I like this one a whole lot more. The fact that the description on the building tiles has no text doesn't concern me as it really didn't take that time to learn what they did and really having a description printed on them instead of the superb artwork is like playing with a chess set with the movement instructions printed on the pieces. So once Ravensburg re releases the corrections to this version I would recommend it whole heatedly. I am still playing the version I got with all its defects and I love it. ... show more

  • Printing error
The same mistake, 4 fruit tiles instead of the 4 cofee tiles. I order it to Guatemala so it would be more expensive for ask for the tile corrections.
