  • Best way to mount your RAM mount on a sport bike!
Style: Angled, 9mm Hole
In my opinion, this is the best way to mount your phone using a RAM mount on a sport bike. I have previously used the RAM fork stem mount, and that works well enough, but this is better! Here's a nifty little comparison chart: This mount: $11.50 (Current Amazon price) Totally secure base for the RAM phone mount Can be mounted on upper fork triple tree clamp, clip-ons, or other handle bar spots if available (needs to have 9mm or smaller screw, probably should be at least 6mm thick). Because of mounting options, your phone can be easily mounted slightly to the side, allowing you to still see your gauges. Fork stem mount: $15.50 (Current Amazon price) Can only mount in center fork stem Mount starts to spin easily after only a few hours of use (experiences may vary, this happened to me, I have a 21mm ID fork stem) Cell phone will inevitably be near the center of the handlebars, likely blocking your gauges or some part of them. Overall conclusions: This mount is cheaper, more versatile, and sturdier! I highly recommend it. I own a Honda CBR600F4i with Gilles Tooling clip ons. Because these clip-ons don't have an exposed tightening screw, I mounted this to my fork tightening screw. It is a M8 40mm socket head screw. After installing this with two washers, one on each side, I replaced the 40mm screw with a 50mm screw. A few threads stick out the other side because this mount with the washers adds ~7mm, but I'd much prefer that to not enough threads grabbing into the upper fork piece. I would definitely suggest buying a longer screw like I did when you install this. ... show more

  • Unfortunately it seems RAM mount is aware of a product issue and is unable to correct it.
Style: Angled, 9mm Hole
as seen in the pictures this is a brand new unopened package however it seems there are gouges taken out of the coating for the mount. This is unaestheticly pleasing especially if i'm mounting this to a motorcycle which is kept in pristine condition. The issue seems to be a manufacturing issue from RAM and not the seller repacking used units. Below is the reply from RAM mount through the seller. "Thank you for the photos. I am sorry if the appearance of the ball base was not to your expectations but I would like to comment that this appears to part of our normal manufacturing process. The area on the post between the ball and the base cannot be fully painted. High injection pressures are required to inject the rubber material and there needs to be a tight seal against the post to inject the rubber ball, which leaves the post with scratches, and where the powder coat simply cannot withstand that; thus leaving an unpainted post. The bases are made of a 369.1 Marine Grade Aluminum Ingot and you should encounter no issues with weather affecting the base. RAM Mounts come with a Lifetime Warranty so if you ever have an issue with the bases, other than cosmetic, please reach out to us and we will replace the damaged part." ... show more

  • Sometimes the only answer on a bike
Style: Angled, 9mm Hole
I have had several motorcycles and scooters. Hard to mount most anything these days as even access to the handlebars is not possible or ideal. Most all bikes have mirros so works great. Have them on two Yamaha XMax scooters now.

  • Limited service life.
Style: Angled, 9mm Hole
Bought 2 of this item to replace previous identical items that failed. Used to support rear view mirrors on a motorcycle. They must be frequently adjusted to permit covering the motorcycle when not in use. Frequent adjustment causes the ball to distort, causing the mirrors not to be steady. Will be replaced with a more robust system when the new ones fail. ... show more

  • Can-Am Outlander ATV
Style: Angled, 9mm Hole
I mostly like this mount but it doesn't always fit. Not knowing how well this component would fit, I also bought the RAM Brake / Clutch Reservoir Base Ram Mount Motorcycle Brake/Clutch Reservoir Base with 1-Inch Ball and I'm glad I did. This mount did not fit on my mirror next to the brake reservoir. Well, technically it did fit but there wasn't enough clearance to get a wrench on the nut to tighten it down appropriately. On the non reservoir side, the mount fits nicely on my mirror mount. Now, I have mounts on both sides, just of different types! The picture on the right side of the handlebar shows the nice fit. I have included the picture of this mount on the non fitting left side handlebar, next to the brake reservoir. It looks like it fits but I was unable to tighten the mirror bolt due to lack of clearance with the mount attached. ... show more

  • Great for scooters/mopeds!
Style: Angled, 9mm Hole
This is the only RAM mount that will work for a scooter if your reservoir is not exposed and you do not have open handlebars like most scooters. I attach this particular mount to one of my mirrors and just use the other rim attachments so that I cannot hold my phone without needing to have it in my hand. So far it has been a great mount and hasn't messed up my phone by dropping it or moving around too much. So if you have a scooter and you're looking for a mount to use you need to buy this one because it's pretty much the only one that will work. But I have to say the only downside with the ram mounts is how much they cost it's pretty crazy but I guess you're paying for the idea of not having your phone messed up. ... show more

  • Such a simple thing that made a big difference for me.
Style: Angled, 9mm Hole
Used this to relocate the GPS mount on my dual sport motorcycle (701). I was initially using the RAM handlebar mount which worked but wasn't super secure and was too close to my body when standing. I found my body hit the GPS too often in rugged terrain. Using this I was able to bolt onto the aluminum bar of my handguards which relocated it about 4-5" forward and a couple inches higher which makes for an easier glance down when standing and a more in the field of view when sitting. ... show more
