The dress was just as I expected nice quality and the sizing was right on. Disappointed since the price was that of a designer dress that there was a pick in the very front of the dress in an obvious place. I did not have time to return the dress because it was for a wedding coming up soon. I trimmed the picked thread off and am hoping the material won't ravel, as the pick is right across the bust line of the dress in a noticeable place. Otherwise the dress is very nice. ... show more

I am 5'4" and 170 lbs, with big shoulders, chest, waist, & hips. I ordered this in size 14 and size 16. The 14 fit well. I loved this dress and plan to wear it to my daughter's graduation dinner. I also purchased and tried on " R&M Richards Women's Shimmer Jacket Dress, Slate, 14 ". I am attaching a picture that shows both; this one is on the right. If you are a few inches taller than I am and don't want your knees to show, then the other dress is slightly longer as you can see from the picture. This one is not lined, but I put a full slip on under it for my comfort and because I think unlined dresses drape better with a slip, but the fabric is thick enough that it really isn't necessary. I feel like both of these items look better with the jacket on, which is how they are meant to be worn. I would recommend either one, and would certainly look at R&M Richards again the next time I am buying a dress for a festive occasion. ... show more

My dress arrived earlier than expected. It was WAY too long (was supposed to be knee length, but I am short) . So, it is with my alteration lady right now, being shortened so it will be ready to wear at our grand daughter's wedding. The fabric and quality is more than I expected. Needed a dress for formal evening wedding and found nothing in the stores. With only one day before the wedding, I went on line to browse and found the R&M dress line. Awesome choices! Went with this style because the dress is loose fitting, and came in both regular and full figure sizes. Recent weight gain had me guessing about sizes so I gambled on getting plus size just in case. It really paid off! I'm 5'-8", 195 lbs (in my 50's) and I ordered a 16W. I could have maybe gone a size smaller, but I'd rather have a little more room then it be too tight. Your exact bust, waist, hips measurements don't matter too much since the dress is loose and flow-y so you don't have to worry about tummy bulge or heavy arms, etc. The jacket is beautiful and covers the dress very well.
