I've only had the chocolate peanut butter variant. I eat about two per day and have probably spend around 700 dollars on these over the past three months. These use a milk protein / whey protein mix, you have to take that into account when comparing pricing. Milk and whey protein is a higher quality protein and will be used more readily by your body. It's also more expensive. At least a dollar of the cost of the bar is the raw protein. From what I can tell, cheaper bars offset this with soy protein or lower quality milk sources. From the ingredients list, it seems like they make the protein seem like a snacky food with fiber and sweeteners. it's pretty impressive - no real junk. Over my 20+ orders, I have only got one of the "dry/bad" batches. It seems like a supply chain issue. In my experience, it's not the norm.

Like I said they are not a candy bar. But as Protien Bars go this is good tasting. As far as getting energy from a protein bar goes… I was amazed at the energy level I felt after eating it. Texture is a like most protein bars. Good value for the money for sure.

These are not the tastiest treats to be found by any stretch. They taste kind of bland. They’re thick with the consistency and flavor of paste that hasn’t completely dried. However I found them to be awesome for my personal energy level and it was not as though they tasted THAT awful, just not ‘that’ good. Then the reality of my allergy to dairy products set in. Ouch. We’re talking painful bowel movements and I will spare you the rest of the gory details besides “ouch, OUCH.” I consider myself an old person at the tender age in the youth of old age being sixty six, and I got quite a boost otherwise with just one drink from an energy drink, the remaining amount bottled, capped then stored in the fridge for later. Cardio sessions were going well and the light workout regimen I’m on began going far better than before I started eating these. Then again the side effects of my allergy to dairy products blah blah blah I reiterate. So if you are not sensitive to any of the ingredients you should be good to go with these. I otherwise highly recommend them. Unfortunately, I can’t tolerate all the ingredients. Damn. Seriously.

Okay so admittedly these things don't really taste like food if you don't microwave them. When you nuke these babies for about 10 seconds, though, you might start to think they're chocolate-flavored... if you've never tasted chocolate before. But boy, do these things taste HEALTHY! Seriously, I feel like a freakin body builder when I eat these bad boys. Regardless of whether or not they are, they sure *taste* like the healthiest thing I've ever consumed in my entire life.... I should also point out that they're inexplicably sticky... But let's be honest here, you're probably not looking for a delicious afternoon snack-- you're probably serious about working out, bulking up or losing weight, etc, and you're probably looking for a healthy protein bar as an alternative to the bajillion unhealthy ones out there. If I'm right, and that's why you're on this website looking at Quest bars, you should add them to your cart. From a fitness perspective, I think these are fantastic-- you get an unbelievable amount of filling fiber and protein for only 160 calories, and even if they're a little more expensive (and taste like the inside of a GNC), I think they're worth it. If you're more concerned about taste and/or on a tighter budget, on the other hand, I would highly recommend Pure Protein bars, which are comparable to Quest bars, but have no fiber (so they aren't as filling) but less sodium. I myself have one box of these Quest bars and one box of Pure Protein bars for when I don't have a microwave handy and would rather not gnaw my way through a solid block of fiber and protein.

We order these Quest bars every 3 weeks, but the last 2 shipments have been very hard and dry. They are usually soft and chewy, and we are wondering why they do not taste good anymore? Disappointed.
