    • First of all the shapes are easy to put in the holes (you don't have to ...
I looked at a number of shape sorters before buying this one. First of all the shapes are easy to put in the holes (you don't have to shove) and it is impossible to put the wrong shape in the wrong hole. Secondly, grabbing the sides of the container does not remove the lid as the lid is only the white portion sitting inside the bucket, which will mean the child can hold onto the edge while playing and not accidentally remove the top. Thirdly, the container is deep enough that blocks do not stack up and prevent other blocks from being inserted (unless you are at a slope and all the blocks roll to one side). Fourthly, the plastic is pretty sturdy so lid does not fall inside and doe not appear easy to break. In other words, this sorter deals with a lot of the common issues other sorters face.... except one. There is no way to lock the lid in place and force the child to insert them via the holes, which means a smart child will lift the white lid off and place all the blocks inside.... so it might be a good idea for you to not show your child how you get the blocks out... do it when they are not looking. Even with this one downside, I still feel its the best sorter on the market. ... show more
