After reading many of the other reviews, I had high hopes for this. No, I did not expect it to be life changing. Part of the way these perfumes work is that the wearer's confidence is boosted because the scent makes them feel happier. Other people then respond in a more positive way to the wearer's confidence and mood. It's human nature. In theory, there should be something to the pheremone bit too but the larger part is the attitude of the person wearing it. That being said, when I opened the bottle (which arrived unsealed and without any box or anything along those lines), all I could think was that it smelled like a bottle of sweat. I still wanted to give it a go so I tried a bit. After all, the claim was that it was supposed to smell differently on each person (as ALL perfumes do). The whole day long, I kept thinking, "I hope that no one thinks I smell like sweat!" The next day, I was talking with a colleague about it and she gave it a go. She felt the same as I had. And no kidding, whenever I walked by her all day long, there was a distinct odor of sweat. We both tried layering it with different perfumes and had the same result. When the scent of the perfume wore off, we were left with that horrible lingering scent of the Basic Instinct/body odor. I do want to say that I am a professional and am a pretty cleanly person. Wearing Basic Instinct did nothing for my confidence and only made people who are normally friendly with me take an extra step away from me. Recommended for people who want to keep other humans away.

I purchased this perfume from pure romance 10+ years ago, loved it, then never purchased again once it ran out. I was worried this version from Amazon wouldn’t be the same but it absolutely is! Slightly musky and sweet and clean smelling, I love it on its own or layered under other scents.

Ok I got what I ordered and it smells really good. But.....when I received the item it was just loose in the shipping envelope, it didn't come in a box or anything. It just kinda freaked me out because how do I know it wasn't tampered with or anything.

Because it’s a roll on, you can only smell it if you’re up close and personal. I wanted something more fragrant. It’s also like an oil when you rub it on, so you can roll it on your clothes to make it more like a fragrance. It leaves stain marks. And rubbing it on your wrists then wiping on your clothes doesn’t help it smell more. I was hoping more of a smell. Not very fragrant. Smell is not bad. But it’s not noticeable either.
