Love these! I typically buy 8.5, and lean toward wide, but don't always need one. I bought 8.5. I did have to loosen the laces a bit, but that worked well. I wear my thinner low socks with them. Perfect! I did wear them around the house to break them in, a week before a trip, and it was a fully improved fit/comfort, after that break-in period. I almost always need to add a cushy insole, no matter how cushy the brand says their shoe is. I didn't need to add an insole, with these. Nice! They worked beautifully for the vacation, and they're so cute!! I chose white, and I imagine I'll have to wash them a lot, but that happens with these fabric based shoes. No idea on washibilty, or durability, b/c I've only had them less than 1 month. I haven't worn them on wet surfaces, so I don't know if the sole is slippery. But nothing about my footing concerned me on smooth, or carpeted floors, or outside on dry ground. I'm in my 48th year as a full-time hairdresser, so you know I'm dealing with old feet, and that I stand for long periods of time. I've worn them several days for work, and my feet don't ache by end of day. As I write this, I'm realizing I can't comment on the arch support, b/c I don't remember how it was. I'm usually right on top of that, given my line of work, and age. So my guess is it's good, or I'd be doing something about it. If I notice an issue, next time I wear them, I'll update. I was looking for a brown/tan fashion sneaker and these fit the bill. I am experiencing plantar fasciitis on one foot so I was hoping that with a brand called Project Cloud these would be soft and comfortable. They do have a nominal amount of padding in the insert, but I found the shoe structure underneath to be fairly rigid and firm. I removed the original padded insole and inserted a more dense and cushioned pad. That helped immensely and I was able to wear them all day at a festival, but I have other shoes that are much more comfortable for my heel pain.
