I normally do not post any product reviews, We live in a fairly small house, and the bedroom is pretty cramped, so upon seeing this bed with storage it was a no brainier and i ordered it without even thinking about reading the reviews, After i had placed the order, i read the reviews and was worried i had perhaps made a mistake due to a lot of poor reviews. i almost cancelled the order but decided "cant be that bad".. it took about a week to arrive, it came in 4 rather big and bulky boxes, (one i had to open out on the deck) as i could not get a grip on it to get it in to the house myself. i was not worried about getting any instructions as i normally just toss them to the side anyways, and i have had plenty of IKEA furniture, so assembly should be a no brainier as long as you take the time to check the alignment of the holes, but i will say it came with instructions, and everything was packed i heavy duty boxes, and foam to fill up all the gaps, (one of the boxes had a dent on the corner, but i assume that was from shipping/transport) but nothing inside the box had been damaged. Now as far as the parts, there is A LOT, a lot more than i expected, each drawer along with the rails, uses a total of 28 screws, 4 nails and 2 lock nuts. times 12 drawers, so that alone took longer than the suggested 1-2 hour total assembly time. but i took my time, being careful not to force anything, or strip screw holes, since particle board tends to strip easy. after about 5.5 hours i had it assembled to get the mattress in place. with all that said, i love this bed, it is not solid oak or something super high quality wood, but for the price, storage and overall quality, it is by far worth it. it is TALL, with a 15 inch mattress, the top of the mattress is at my waist, so i have to do a bit of a jump to get up to it, (im 5.10) plenty of slats to accommodate a memory foam mattress, if i have any negative to say at all, i might be on the drawers, the bottoms are very thin, so i don't expect it to hold any great weights, but i did assemble them as they should to give them a shot, and should they not be enough i will just replace the bottoms with some 3/4" material. but so far it holds up to all the things we use them for, (clothing and such) just make sure to put some time aside if you order this bed it does take some time to get it all together, but once assembled it is worth it. i have not had the bed for very long, but should my opinion change, i will put an update on here.

I have had my bed for about 1 yr. I like my bed a lot because of the storage. I see that it's $600 now and that is quite high for particle board, in my opinion. I wanted the storage - that's the only reason I bought this in particle board. I wish it was solid wood but we are happy with it. Basically we sleep on it and it's fine and our combined weight is 325 lbs. We reinforced it with brackets all over the place on the inside. The head side of the bed is up against a wall. The bed is a pretty good design & went together well but it took us over 8 hours, including sorting out all the hardware and wood pieces and reading instructions. It came in 4 boxes and it took 6 weeks to complete the delivery - the first one never arrived completely and had to be resent, that was the fault of the carrier. I couldn't begin assembly of what I did receive early because hardware was shipped separately with other components. ( I explained the shipping further, below). The instructions are very good and the hardware is easy to use. My husband is handy and showed me how to put the drawers together and I was able to do them easily. If you can follow instructions and have someone to help with the heavier aspects, anyone can do this. It helps to have a ratcheting screwdriver and a power screw driver. Near the final "put together" the hardest part was getting the bed/drawers all aligned and screwing down the brackets while keeping the slats from slipping off. There are pilot holes that the brackets screw into that are hardly noticeable. I don't know how anyone would do the final assembly alone (keeping the walls together with drawers in while attaching head and foot) - it really requires two people I think. Once aligned the drawers were almost perfectly flush. I am impressed with the way the bed was engineered, as the only weakness is that it's particle board, and also there are some gaps at the head area between the mattress and the head piece. I haven't put a headboard up - that is another project. I'm not having problems with the slats sliding and dropping out. They are plywood and my husband used angle brackets to secure them in place to the head and foot boards. There are two particle board pieces in the center part of the bed that hold the sides of the bed, and the drawers glide on. The slats could also be anchored to those boards. Overall. I think the bed is more stable with a lot of angle brackets. After that, it would be very difficult to take this bed apart and move it...that is the nature of particle board, but I guess it would be possible if you have wood glue and wood filler. We also put self sticking felt underneath on any area that touched our flooring. This also makes it easier to "slide" the bed if needed. After reading the reviews I realize the bed cannot be torqued or the particle board would be stressed. Our combined weight is about 315 lbs and we haven't had any issues. I think if you reinforce this bed with the angle brackets it will work out okay. We've slept on it for two weeks and still plan to go in and do more reinforcement. I will try to update in the future. I would say if you get it & reinforce it, it's a decent bed to get more storage especially if you have a smaller bedroom or closet space. However, I don't expect to move this bed and I agree with others, it probably can't be My bed had some damage that was mostly cosmetic. I got a discount from AMZ although not as much as I asked for. The AMZ rep didn't tell me exactly the truth either. He said I'd get a partial refund for the damage, but instead gave me a promo credit on my account which limits what I can buy on AMZ - only items fulfilled by AMZ and no gift cards either. I feel this was misleading from what he originally told me. My delivery experience with UPS was not good. The bed shipped in 4 boxes and UPS lost the 4th heaviest box (over 100 lbs) twice. The first order was "lost" had to be replaced and then UPS did the same thing. My local driver finally found it in the warehouse and told me about it, saying it was extremely beat up..and do I still want it. I said yes I've waited 6 wks for it - so he personally had it loaded on his truck and brought it. He is a good driver of course, but the warehouse is run poorly. Prepac shipped quickly and it made it to the UPS warehouse in a few days. But that last box....the biggest one, so banged around that the drawer guides were rattling inside, the foam separated. Prepac could have taped things together better because the drawer guides and brackets damaged the finish on the bed pretty severely. None of the boards were cracked so that was a plus and the bed is usable.

I've had this bed for just over 5 years. It is a garbage product. Seriously, do not buy it. It's a neat design and the concept it great in theory but the build quality is very poor. It's mostly made of synthetic wood and low-quality particle board. When we finished putting the bed together, many of the drawers didn't even fit correctly. We triple and quadruple checked that it was assembled properly which it was. We never were able to get a number of the drawers to fit. In addition to the drawers not fitting, they are very flimsy and the bottom falls out easily. If you want to store anything in them that's even mildly heavy such as t-shirts or heavy sweaters you'll need to glue the bottom in. I was able to tolerate the drawers not fitting well for several years but recently I disassembled the bed to move it upstairs and after i put it back together, two of the cheap particle boards on the inside disintegrated at the corners and so now the side railing does not attach to the two center boards at all. I am going to try to warranty these pieces because the company offers a 5 year warranty but I purchased this in May of 2011 so I think I'm 5+ months passed the warranty. I wouldn't be so irritated if I hadn't paid almost $600 for this bed. As beds go, a $600 price tag is not unheard of but the build quality should be far better than this at that price.
