Description

PowerPro Super Slick V2 Braided Line has been redesigned to bring on a new level of toughness. This line features a "smooth as silk" surface. The smooth surface means reduced line friction on the spool and through the rod guides, which allows this Power Pro line to cast like a bullet. It's made with dense weave, 8-end construction with proven EBT coating process. This line also features added abrasion toughness. This provides the strength and power for this line to rip through the heaviest cover with the same force as traditional 4-end braids.

I live in San Diego and frequent the local charter boat for tuna/yellowtail and bottom fish like rock fish and lingcod. I am very satisfied with this line! I replaced old braided line with this and had noticeably more reel left at the same # line so its definitely thinner, also has a wax coating that helps with smoothness and seems to bleed less color over time. I run a short floracarbon leader fishing up to 300ft deep and the lack of stretch give more responsive feel fishing that far down. I plan on upgrading all my reels to this line ... show more

Been buying PowerPro Super Slick for years. Good diameter and smooth as silk. The new V2 is a step up. However, it is also “stiffer” than the original. This is not a problem with thin 30 lb test. But when I worked with 50 lb for shock leader it was a little tough to splice the line. The tag end of the 50 had too much memory making it harder to manipulate it with your fingers. I have been using power pro braid for my baitcasters for 5 years now without any hiccups. I made the switch from spectra original, hoping I could get enhanced performance, but instead all I get is birdnest after birdnest. Worse still, the knots tied on this braid tend to break (slip?) for some reasons, resulting in a lot of loss fish. I wanted to like this braid, but performance wise, this is terrible! ... show more
