Seems like a fine place mat, wipes clean or toss in the dish washer. Lays flat, doesn't have any odor. Keep in mind it is not a trivet or oven mitt, the silicone will give your table some protection from hot food on a dinner plate, but do not expect it to survive a hot pan out of the oven or skillet off of the stove. I was looking for a dark brown color, but this is very neutral and it's growing on me; depending on the light sometimes it looks grayish and other times it looks sort of beige. They seem to have added more colors since I ordered these so there should be a color for almost everyone. Highly recommended. ... show more

I usually don’t like to reviews because I feel like it gets buried in thousands of fake reviews, but this seemed like a good product to make an exception. The placemats are great! We’ve been searching for placemats that feel stylish yet functional. I’ve been on Amazon, West Elm and Etsy and decided on these because of the silicone material- we wanted something we could wipe off. We like these so much that we will probably order another set when more colors become available. The color is a muted purplish pink so it doesn’t look cheap, which was my concern with ordering a silicone placemat- something that might feel too thick and platic-like. I have been looking forever for silicon placemats and I gotta say these are not ideal. I have purchased a more expensive brand for our previous home and decided to go for a less expensive brand this time after moving into our new home. Well, don't do that! They look nice and I do like the color but they are smaller than I expected and they do slide around which is driving me crazy. They seem to be heat resistant when putting hot bowls or plates on them and are easy to clean. I actually put them in the dishwasher for a quick clean. But the moving around and the small size is not ideal when you have small children. I will have to go back and buy my previous brand since I'm really not happy with these. ... show more

They take up no “visual space” if you choose colors close to the surface you’ll put them on, so I just wipe them off with a sponge and leave them there. Great for our small apartment and minimalist preferences for functional items. Chose our dark neutral blue color for the wooden dining table and a light one to blend in with the countertop for the breakfast bar. They stay put nicely.     • Slide-prood: work as I needed
These pads work how I wanted - I have a blind relative who's plates, coffee cups, etc.,always slid on old placemats. These work the way I needed, but they are a bit small. Also, I bought the navy blue and they ate almost a gray navy blue so they don't look quite as good as I hoped.

    • Durable and easy to clean.
This placemat is so functional. Cups, plates and eating utensils can't slide on it like other placemats. Highly recommend them. Only reason for a 4 star is that the mat pictured is deceptive. It appears that there is a cupholder which is does not have. No big deal. Great product.
