  • A must have spare - you won't be sorry
We have 3 Polaris machines currently, a 2022 Sportsman XP 1000, 2022 Sportsman 570 & 2023 RZR Pro XP. These machines aren't neighborhood cruisers, we run these hard in mud, dirt, dust, rocky terrain/hills, water crossings, etc in 90F+ summer temps. One of the main reasons Polaris gets so much hate is due to their use of CVTs. The best thing you can do to extend the life of your belt is to use low range. People often get confused and think 'low' on ATVs/UTVs is similar to 'low range' in a truck or SUV, where you may hardly ever use it - but that's not the case here. Any technical, low speed movements should be done in low. Loading it onto a trailer, climbing a rocky hill, driving 5mph or less, doing a 3 point turn, etc. Doing stuff like this in high could cause you to slip your belt which will wear it out prematurely. Low also keeps your engine RPMs higher, which turns your primary clutch faster, which ultimately moves more air through your belt box which keeps everything cooler. The higher RPMs also allows the primary clutch to clamp onto the belt more, thus eliminating slippage. At low speeds in high gear, the clutch is barely engaged thus causing slipping if there is any resistance (steep hill, rock, going up ramps, etc). I hope this at least helps a couple people if you are new to these machines and have experienced any belt issues. I bought a spare belt for each machine and keep them in a rolling Milwaukee packout box that goes with us every time we ride. I also keep some spare fluids and other tools in it as well. The box is waterproof so it can sit out on our trailer with no worry of things getting wet inside. These belts aren't necessarily "cheap" but it could save you from a ruined weekend of riding. Good spare item to have on hand. Also recommend making yourself familiar with changing out a belt, generally the hardest part is actually getting access to the belt cover itself, once there it's a simple 5 minute job. It's super easy to get to on the RZR Pro XP series and Sportsman XP 1000 & 850. On the Sportsman 570s and below, it requires you to take apart some of the footwell to gain access. ... show more

  • Made my Scrambler feel brand new
Was having trouble with my belt slipping. Decided to try this heavy duty wad out since it was made by Polaris. Quad feels brand new again. Picks the front wheels up off the ground during acceleration even on loose dirt. I'll report back after I've driven it a couple hundred mi.

  • Works as should
