The ball and figure are both pretty great quality! The ball opens easily when you want it to open but stays shut when you need it shut. The Bulbasaur colors are bright and accurate, and it's posed doing a cute wink. I made a display to show them off! I obsess over comparing reviews before I buy anything...and I was honestly not going to buy this for my 7 year old son who has recently discovered pokemon. $12.99 is not a terrible price but at the same time if it was garbage I would not want to buy it. Majority of reviews I read said it was cheap and that the pokeball didn't close. I'm glad I bought it. I'm aware there must be defective ones out there but I just wanted to say that the one I purchased was great! My son loved it! It opened and CLOSED as it was intended too. Perfect pokemon gift for a pokemon fan. I of course told him he can not actually throw the pokeball because it would damage it or break. I will probably purchase a plush pokeball in the future. My niece is 5 and had a pokemon surprise party and these were a massive hit. I got the belt, a few other characters, and found some more of the pokeballs on ebay and it was pretty epic and I am a tad jealous I didn't buy it for myself. But she loves the starters so this was a perfect addition.

My son was very excited to receive these for Christmas. Unfortunately, one of the Pokeballs broke the same day due to the construction being light duty plastic. Would be fine for light play but a design with young kids in mind (tossing the item) would be better.
