I used this to change the front differential oil in my truck. I used the larger diameter hose that the pump comes with. I also installed the hose clamps that secure the hose to the pump. They supply a tiny Phillips screwdriver which was too small to turn the clamp's screw. I had to use a normal size screw driver. The power cord was just long enough to reach the battery from the front differential. Also, there was just enough slack between the negative and positive terminal clamps to make contact with the battery's terminals. Those with wider batteries will have to modify the power cord. I was surprised how well the pump did when sucking out the old diff oil and no mess! I used the pump to fill the diff too. I will say two points. This pump made the job go quicker compared to the manual hand pump I have. Also, there was far less spilled oil compared to my hand pump. The pump itself is rather small about the size of a softball or grapefruit. ... show more

Give it 4 stars. Pumped oil out of a hydro on a zero turn rider. Worked great. Went to pump new oil back in but it was creating foam. Still like.

    • This pump makes oil changes a breeze
I purchased this to change the oil on my Sea Doo. The hand pumps I’d used in the past were unreliable and difficult to prime. With the Sea Doo I didn’t even have to warm the engine. I had it drained in minutes without spilling a drop. I then decided to use it on my old BMW which has low clearance and a plastic panel underneath that is awkward to remove and reinstall. I didn’t have to run the car up on ramp, unscrew a hot plug and risk dropping it into the oil pan with the copper crush washer. I just warmed the engine and the pumped it out thru the dipstick tube in just a couple minutes directly into a jug. I didn’t have to crawl under the car or transfer the oil from the drain pan into the jug. I strongly recommend it to save time and avoid a mess. ... show more

    • Worked great on my Audi. Now I can save big $$$ and time on oil changes.
Huge hassle to drain the engine oil from the sump on my Audi. Found this pump and it works great on my Audi for engine oil changes. It does get a bit hot if you let it pump too long. I found if I warm up the engine oil to operating temp first, then pump out the oil, it works more quickly and efficiently. (Engine off of course!) No more $200+ oil changes! ( You will need to get a Audi/VW specific scan tool to reset the reminder!) ... show more

    • So far so good.... could use a few simple improvments...................
This is my second small electric engine oil pump. The first one, a different brand, but still available on Amazon, developed an internal leak after less than 10 uses. It made a big mess after that every time I used it, but I put up with it because I wanted to get my money out of it. Let's see if this one holds up any better. My guess is that they are both made by the same Chinese orphanage. My five complaints.: A. Changing oil with a pump like this tends to be a messy job. It's virtually inevitable you will end up with oily, slippery hands. The handle on the pump is not designed for this type of use. A. It is too short. B. It is too smooth textured. C. It doesn't have some kind of a knob or protrusion at its end to prevent slipping thru your hand. At a minimum some ridges in the handle might improve it dramatically in this respect. B. The small intake hose crimps at the pump end where the diameter necks down. It needs better strain relief and to be made of material which can hold up to moderately hot engine oil, ATF, etc. without going soft. The outlet hose has a similar issue, but since it is a larger diameter it does not create as much of a nuisance as the smaller intake hose. C. The flow direction arrows on the pump housing are large, but barely visible since they are the same color as the housing. Why can't they be made black or another contrasting color? D. At least this pump came with an instruction sheet. Most items I buy like this do not come with any instructions at all. However, the instruction sheet has but one substantive illustration, but it is so small as to be useless. Diagrams or photos needed, especially for assembly. E. The alligator clips on the battery cable are too close together for a regular size auto battery. I had to strip back the outer jacket to get enough spread between them to attach them to the battery cables. On the positive side the flow volume was OK for changing ATF thru the dip stick tube. It took about 3 or 4 minutes to pump about 3-4 pints of ATF. ... show more
