I have a large collection of vegan cookbooks and this one is my favorite! It is a high protein, high fiber cookbook. Most of the recipes are easy and affordable with ingredients that you can easily get anywhere. The only ingredient that I haven't been able to find in the US is smoked tofu. I just will use regular tofu and add some smoked seasoning. Gigi is a nutritionist and she included very good information on eating this healthy plant based lifestyle. My plan is to eventually make every recipe in this book. My favorite is the Comforting E Ceci! This was the first recipe I made because it looked easy and affordable. I was surprised of how delicious and truly comforting this meal is. I make this one meal almost on a weekly basis, that's how much I love it. Mary Me Lentils is soooo good. I made the yummy Creamy High Protein Spinach Mafaldine for St. Patrick's Day for it's beautiful green color. The Sheet Pan Crispy Black Pepper Tofu, Broccoli and Sweet Potato is a good, quick meal. Butter Beans are my favorite and she has a few recipes using them like Harissa Butter Bean with Zingy Yogurt Sauce, YUM! The Mushroom Butter Bean and Caramelized Onion Toast is listed under breakfast but I ate it for breakfast, lunch and a snack, sooo good! I made the Romesco Chickpeas and the Leek and Miso Lentils, two more delicious meals. Every recipe I've made from this book has been really delicious! I also follow Gigi on social media, mostly IG and You Tube. She has other meals there that are not in the book and they are also absolutely delicious. I love how she ends her videos, saying with her cute italian accent, "oh mama" so I will end this by saying "oh mama, you really need to get this cookbook!" Update: I made more delicious recipes. For Easter I made the Lasagne Primavera, perfect for Spring. The Vegan Mayo was so easy, I will not have to buy from the store again. The Tofu Scramble is the best I've had; seriously I absolutely love it! I made the Tempeh Cacciatore, mmmmm so good, It was perfect for a Sunday dinner (I added a pic of that). Two favorites not in the book but on Gigi's social media is the Coconut Mint Soup, easy and so good. The Aglio e Olio Butter Beans, this is pretty much my absolute favorite! It's extremely easy and so delicious, I make this very often. I love it for breakfast on Sourdough toast. When I have worked a hard day I can make this extremely quick and feel satisfied because it's so delicious and filing. ... show more

  • Delicious recipes and educational to boot!

Love this book! It not only has great recipes, but it is so informative/educational regarding the various types of plant protein, cooking methods, storing methods, recipe protein and fat content, etc. beautiful images too, which I always find helpful! I am not on a fully plant based diet, but bought this due to being lactose intolerant and just to add some healthier options into our meal routine. The desserts are the best part for me. If you can’t do milk or lactose, you know the struggle of finding GOOD dessert recipes without those ingredients. I’ve made several from this book and they are delicious! ... show more

  • Good recipes, but mind your macros

As a strength training type 1 diabetic, for better or worse macro tracking is a part of my life. I knew from first glance at the recipes that the portion sizes/calorie counts had to be on the higher side to reach some of these protein amounts. Plugging a few of them into Cronometer showed me I was very much correct. Thus I would recommend disregarding the macro section in the back of the book. With that said, there are some tasty recipes to be had here! So far the Sweet Potato Gochujang Soup with Crispy Chickpeas & Marry Me Lentils have been my favorites! I might not be able to reach the protein amount listed in the book for every recipe based on the amount of food I can fit in my stomach in one sitting (or some days the carb count is more insulin than I feel like taking), but I am grateful for vegan recipes with a more protein based focus! ... show more

  • Great vegan cookbook! Three for three!

I've made 3 recipes since I received my book 5 days ago. All three recipes were easy and delicious. The meals are also very satisfying. I've only made the dinner recipes and will be less likely to make the breakfasts or sweet treats. This book has 80 recipes, 30 of them are dinner recipes which all look delicious. There are many photos of the meals which I like. Overall, it is a very nice cookbook. I follow "Gigi goes Vegan" on Instagram which is how I knew of this cookbook. I pre-ordered and am very happy that I did. Update: I have since made numerous recipes from this cookbook and every single one is delicious and filling. I like how the recipes are marked with the estimate of time to make each meal along with icons that represent, gluten-free, good source of iron, high in fibre and good for gut health. I knew I would love this book! I Follow her on IG and love how simple and delicious her high plant protein meals are. I'm really slow in the kitchen and I've saved so much time with Gigi's recipes. She also uses easy to find ingredients. No need to go to specialty groceries. I transitioned to plant based last year and all her recipes helped me when I missed eating Italian food and needed it to align with my gym goals. Get the book. Make the recipes.
