I acquired the April stone. This necklace came in a nice gift box, but it was packaged in two separate plastic baggies. If you plan on giving this as a present, you may want to take it out first and arrange it properly before gifting. It also comes with a cleaning cloth. The sparkling oval cut of the CZ stone in the middle stands out from the back and grabs your attention. Except for the fact that it is rather large, no one would know that it wasn't real. The background is also well done with its own shine. The chain is thin and smooth with a little option to adjust smaller, however, it falls perfectly with 'V' neck tops. Because the chain is so thin, you will need to be extra careful so it won't snap. The spring ring clasp is rather small which makes it a little hard to fasten yourself. The necklace is very beautiful, but it is obvious to me that the gold is not real. It is a very bright yellow gold. The kind that it looks when it's not real. I am picky about that. This necklace is simply gorgeous. I was worried that quality wouldn't match the price tag, but you can tell it's not a cheap piece of jewelry. The gemstones look real and not chincy! The chain is light and delicate. You may wish to change the chain out for a thicker one and use this chain by itself. The pendant is amazing. VERY nice! In my "wealth of experience," well designed and executed "costume" jewelry is a rare commodity, but this necklace rings all the bells! I chose the smokey quartz, a true gemstone mineral that has special meaning for me. The stone settings have that "perfect balance" that sets this necklace apart from the usual doubts about "costume" jewelry. The length is adjustable by where you attach the aligator clasp to the chain. They're not kidding about the 'crushed ice cut' of the just gorgeous rich red stone. This beats any ruby hands down for beauty and sparkle. The chain has the silver 925 mark on a tiny pendant and it comes in a big, cushioned gift box on a black velour bed. It does the Princess Di's engagement ring design to a T, with meticulous attention to impressive detail. It reflects a personal preference when I say that the gold is just a whisper too orange for me, but I'll qualify that by saying 18k has more gold in it than 14k, and has this exact tone. This necklace did not disappoint! It came quickly. The only issue I have is that the box for the necklace was falling apart. A bit of glue could fix it, but I will just repackage in a better box.
