  • Seems to have helped.
Item Package Quantity: 1
I used it on the threads of new spark plugs which is a debatable issue. I removed the old plugs of unknown age on my 2010 F150 5.4 litre 3-valve motor, the old plug threads had a fair amount of rust on them and were difficult to remove. I installed a new plug without the anti-seize and the plug fought me the entire way, binding with the existing threads of the head. So, I removed the new plug and added a touch of anti-seize to the threads of all the new plugs, and the install went smoothly. I was able to pretty much finger tighten all the plugs until they were firmly seated, before using the torque wrench and setting them to 15 ft-lbs. Since the SP509 plugs are rated for 100,000 miles or so, the plugs will probably be untouched for a long time, allowing untreated plugs to rust and or carbon up some of the threads over that prolonged period. ... show more

  • Mans good friend
Item Package Quantity: 1
Folks, if you have not tried this then you have missed the boat. Anti-seize is a knuckle saver when changing mower blades, tractor implements and many more things. If it may rust or gets stiff over time and you do not want to have a MMA fight to get it loosened then you have found the answer. Water alone will not faze this product. ... show more

  • Works Great - Smells Awful! :)
Item Package Quantity: 1
Works great, smells awful. But you should expect that. Just keep in mind that a little goes a loooooong way! You only need a very small amount to accomplish the job. One tip is to place a very small amount on the threads, then twist it through a lintless cloth to evenly distribute throughout the threads. It doesn't need to be perfect as it will distribute when being tightened. Also keep in mind that this can change the torque limits. I won’t even try to do the math here. But quick research shows that you should reduce the torque value anywhere from 25% - 40% (or slightly more or less, depending on the materials, temperature, and environmental conditions). So do your research before tightening down - you don't want to strip any threads! ... show more

  • Worth the extra step
Item Package Quantity: 1
Prompt shipping and well packaged. I originally purchased this for changing the spark plugs on an old Mustang, and when I had to use a pipe for extra torque to remove the old plugs, I realized the importance of using this on these jobs. As I worked my way around the car on other requirements, such as the belts and pulleys and their corresponding hardware, I discovered how beneficial it was to take the time to use this anti-seize. A few months later when I had to pull the water housing to change a faulty thermostat, the compound was still in perfect condition, including on the bolts that were attached to the block and subject to the most extreme temperature variances. I have used this everytime I work on something that involves even the possibility of return maintenance. ... show more

  • Good anti-seize protection in an easy to use tube that is big enough for most people
Item Package Quantity: 1
I have one of the big 8oz jars of this same anti-seize Permatex 80078 Anti-Seize Lubricant with Brush Top Bottle, 8 oz. that I have used for several years on all manner of projects, but recently I needed to change some spark plugs in a confined space in a boat and I wanted to make sure that I was able to do the job without making any extra mess. When I was buying the spark plugs I saw these small tubes listed as "also purchased" items and the light went off. This way rather than bringing the big jar with a brush on lid into the boat or trying to pre-lube the plugs and not touch anything on the way in I could sit down in the engine compartment and dab a little on the threads right as I was installing them. No mess at all, and after use I was able to thread the cap back on and put it back in my jacket pocket so I didn't have to set it down anywhere and risk a mess or worse knocking it into someplace in the bilge that would be a pain to get to it. Just a dab on the threads will ensure when I need to remove the plugs again from the aluminum head that there wont be a problem. It also works great on a lot of other marine and automotive fasteners and tight fit areas where the use of anti-seize could be tolerated. If you are considering this nickle formula as compared to the copper formulas they consider the copper to be a general purpose and the nickle formulas to have a higher heat tolerance in addition to being able to use on metals that should not be allowed to come into prolonged contact with copper. I prefer to just have this formula on hand. The one ounce tube is probably enough to last you a very long time if you don't often have a need for it, I do quite a bit of this type of work and I have probably only used half of the 8oz jar I have in the last half a dozen years so for most people this is the one you want to get, but I do like having both as the brush comes in very handy for applying to larger surfaces. If you are buying this to use on spark plugs also consider a dielectric grease to put in the ends of the boots like this one Permatex 81150 Dielectric Tune-Up Grease, .33 oz Tube or a bigger tube if you do the job more frequently. ... show more

  • Perfect for new Bosch iridium plugs in the aluminum heads of a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire
Item Package Quantity: 1
I used the 81343 to replace 12 plugs in the aluminum heads of a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire. For those familiar, these plugs are a famous bitch to access. With 123,000 miles and a suspect maintenance history, and was very worried with the force it took to remove the old plugs and the squeaking noises as the plugs complained about being removed. A busted plug is a special sort of nightmare for this Mercedes engine. I applied the 81343, and all 12 plugs could be screwed in with fingers all the way to the crush washer. ... show more
