I've been working on cars for years now without one of this fender covers. My project car finally has a nice paint job, and this does a great job protecting it from scratches when reaching over the fender with tools in hand. It's fairly priced and saved me a trip to the store. I would, however, recommend that you use some masking tape to hold this down depending on the shape of your fender and if you work on cars outside in windy conditions - it has the tendency to slip off if not taped down. It was a bit stiff out of the box, and slides off the fender easily; after a few uses it stays in place much easier. It keeps the paint from getting scratched (as long as the paint is clean and free of dust, debris, etc. that scrapes when it slides around), oil wipes off of it easily, and is a bit better than using an old towel. ... show more

great inexpensive choice, padded. I need to use these on a '47 ford sedan so the fenders are quite wide. I don't want anything that sticks or magnets because that brings along other potential and likely drawbacks I would not like. None of them are perfect but better than nothing.

Works ok for covering a fender while working. Does not have any magnets or clips to help stay on the vehicle, and can easily be knocked off. Based on the vehicle you are working on, it has a tendency to slide off some vehicles that have more rounded fenders.

This fender cover really worked out nice for me. It’s big so it covered a lot of area, especially over the fender. I was able to place tools and screws right on top without them disappearing into the engine bay.

Using these while working on my old Corvette. For what they cost they work great. I like the little pockets where you can slide wrenches or other smallish, thin tools into. They're thick enough and don't slide around too much or fall off like the cloth ones we used when I was professional mechanic. They also fold up pretty flat making storage easy. ... show more
