  • Very heavy duty
Color: Dark Grey
I got this for work in our wood and metal shops. It's a very nice, well designed apron with a lot of pockets and a heavy, thick canvas base material. I did not have any difficulty adjusting the straps, and it has protected my front from sparks, splinters, grime, etc. When it gets dirty, I just hose it off. I haven't had any problems with fraying threads or loose pieces as yet, and it's been several months. ... show more

  • Great blend of durability and being lightweight. Also, pretty manly, while being manly and pretty.
Color: Brown
Currently, this seems to be comparable in price to many other waxed canvas aprons that all appear to be very similar in design (as far as straps and they way they work, the pocket arrangements vary). Overall, I am very happy with it. It is lighter weight than I expected, which is not a bad thing, but a leather apron will definitely be heavier. I have never used a waxed canvas apron before, but, I got this mainly for armoring and the waxed canvas should keep most oils and carbon off of my clothes, which is the objective. I'm very happy with the coverage around my body, and it is comfortable after you get the straps adjusted. Because it is so stiff, it will fold up if you bend over, but should hold itself well if you have tools and whatnot in it. I like the amount of pockets and little clip areas on this. I've viewed some of the other waxed canvas aprons available, and I feel this one has one of the better if not the best arrangements. There are two large pockets where you'd expect, a phone sized one up top and center, several places to clip things on or through, and a couple smaller ones in leather on top of one of the large ones. I really like the color blend of the brown, it almost appears all leather, although it is not. If you're looking though, while this is a good option, and you want to go full manly, I may suggest you get a full leather one. I have a super ugly cheap leather apron for welding, and although it's nothing fancy, it is heavier than this because it is leather. If I could give you a complaint on this, it would be the little magnet section on it. It looks like there's maybe only two slit magnets sewn in there, and their strength holds nary a key. They literally are barely powerful enough to hold a screw, but it is so weak, I wouldn't trust it at all. I'd have been much happier if they made an opening on the back, and I could just stick some neodymium magnets in there. But alas, desires unfulfilled strengthen the heart hence pray for a better tomorrow. ... show more

  • Well thought out work apron. Bigger guys may want to adjust the straps.
Color: Dark Grey
Over the years I've done a number of different things, from automotive mechanics, to welding, to darkroom work and carpentry. In some of those roles I've used industrial or commercial quality work aprons and always appreciated the quality that went into them. However I always wanted a different sort of pocket or place to keep different odds and ends. Few years ago I started taking old blue jeans and sewing some of my own work aprons for use around the farm or while furniture making. That way I could always have a pencil pocket where I wanted it, or a big junk pocket that I could throw screws and nails in. But the truth is I'm not that much of a seamstress and my designs were rather ad hoc. When I saw this I had to try it. After opening it up I thought that it felt a little bit lighter than I expected for a 20 ounce canvas. However it's extremely well waxed. That makes it kind of stiff but it starts to loosen it up quickly as you break it in. I was not sure about the shoulder straps and padding. I weigh around 250 and the straps were made for someone a bit smaller. That said, the straps hold it well. Over a long time it's going to be easy to replace any straps that start to wear out because they have well grommeted support holes. I have no doubt that this is going to keep grease and dirt off the rest of my clothes. The material may be thin but it's providing excellent protection. The pencil pockets and small tool holders are good, The fittings are a durable brass. The big, right hand pocket is OK, but it is right handed. I might have preferred tow pockets, left and right. The magnetic nail holder on the left is an interesting idea. Overall, I like the design and material. It will take a bit to break in and I think I will redo the straps to allow a single neck collar and a tie around the waist. A better fit for me. ;) ... show more

  • Fantastic pocket design, good straps and belt.
Color: Brown
It starts with nice thick waxed cotton which - for me - is better than leather for oils, stains and general spilled things. I do have a leather apron as well and I tend to use that for different jobs. This apron has way better designed pockets, straps and hooks. I'm not sure what I'm going to hook on it yet, but just give me time. The top center pocket is perfect for my phone. The top gets less debris and it has a tab to keep the phone in place. I've dropped my phone enough times in the other version to really appreciate that feature. Pencil pockets are good, I wish there were more because I seem to lose 3 pencils per project... The leather front straps are handy for many tools, I'm liking them a lot. The two main pockets are deep and roomy, plenty of space to load up on gear or screws and nails. I can even drop my screw gun in there while I climb the ladder. The magnetic pocket I thought was a bit of a gimmick until I put a few screw tips on there. No more fishing through the bottom of the pockets looking for them. Stitching is good and I love the "clip" belt. My other one is a tie behind and this is way easier - set and forget. The clips to the top are of a nice easy to use design and the grommet is even reinforced. Easy to put on an off. I don't tend to load this up too heavy o the shoulder straps are just a bonus. Everything is super smart on this. Complete 5 stars. ... show more
