I got this to replace a missing cover on a Trophy 126, same dimensions as the Viper 10.4. I thought it might sit in the lip but it is too large. Instead I was able to cut the lip out, and that results in an almost perfect fit, in the remaining recessed area, with just a little rotary tool work to get a nice tight fit. Had to buy my own stainless hardware as none is provided (almost another $20 at a local hardware store for oval head machine screws, nuts, and washers). The tiny rope snapped during installation somehow, so I replaced it with paracord (easier to see it now anyway). But, the biggest problem is that the top lid appears to be warped to some degress, so the edges don't fit snug against the inner seal. The base to boat seal seems plenty secure, but the latched lid will do nothing to keep out significant splashing. It's still an upgrade for these cheap kayaks with a little work to fit it, but if watertight storage is important, I'd look elsewhere. ... show more

Hubby replaced the old one on his kayak. Was pretty straight forward, he said, but some screw holes did not exactly lined up. Looks nice, but he said the water still got into a compartment. The foam peice is loose and seems undersized and does stay in well in a groove, he said. It's will get displaced when hatch is opened, and he had to manually push it back in. ... show more

I found it cheaper to buy this whole unit, 1 of my lever locks broke, a new 1 was $20 plus shipping, figure I would have a spare buying this way, also if your hatch looks just like this 1 it will fit, mine is on a Vibe Kayak.
