The color of the dress is what I expected (matched website picture). The dress fit great. The fabric is good quality, not thin and not too thick. The only thing I didn't like and is why I returned it was the random piece of fabric that looked like it should have tied or been sewn into the dress bothered me. It just seemed really odd. I purchased this dress for a special occasion and few days prior to the event, I decided to try it on. It is the most poorly constructed dress I have ever seen. I am considered trim, but I could not get my arms into the dress because of the way the back of the dress is sewn. I have written numerous reviews over the many years of shopping on Amazon, but I have never purchased any item that is so poorly designed. While I have the tags, which I cut off to try on the dress, I soon realized that I cannot even return the dress, as one of the tags states "If you remove the tags, you cannot return the dress". ... show more

This is a lovely, well made dress. The back zipper is long enough so as to get it on easily. The waist band is slightly elevated (even on short-waisted me) allowing for a nice flow over the usual bumps of waist and belly. Length was perfect on my 5'5" frame, hitting just below the knee. I bought the L, as recommended,and it is a tad tight, but not unwearable on my average weight body.
