    • A Great Laser Engraver To Handle A Variety Of Tasks - Updated review
The media could not be loaded. Update: I have been using the Ortur Laser Master Pro laser engraver more and I really love this machine. I have attached a video of some of the items I have created with it. The first part of the video shows a sample burn of some text using Lightburn software. This software is not included, but highly recommended and easy to use. You can see the engraving turned out really nice and the letters are crisp. There is a little smoke discoloration which is noticeable at the bottom of the letter "p". I think once I get the air assist hooked up this will not be an issue. You will also see a sample engraving of the Millennium Falcon. This has very detailed linework and the engraving came out really clean and with no discoloration. The last part of the video shows the laser cutting through 1/32" thick green skateboard veneer. Being able to cut through this type of material was one of the biggest reasons I looked at the laser Master 2 Pro in the first place. I made several passes to cut out the words "Happy Holidays." This came out incredibly sharp. The pieces were so thin and delicate that I broke the letter "s" off the end when I picked it up. I highly recommend the Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro as I see this meeting all of the needs I have for my home DIY and hobby needs. It cuts and engraves better than what I expected it would. It also takes up a relatively small footprint and is easy to move or store out of the way. I can see this laser easily being used for a business as it has a great price point for what it can do. I plan to add the rotary attachment in the near future as I think that will be a great combination and will cover just about anything I think I would like to do with it. ------------------------- I just received this Laser Master 2 Pro and am excited to put it to use on a variety of projects. The laser was packaged extremely well and was easy to put together. Take your time in putting it together and you shouldn't have issues. It helps to lay out the pieces before you start assembling. This laser works great on some different materials that I have tried. It burns incredibly thin lines in the wood I have been trying it out with. I'm excited to try some other materials and see what I can create with it. I am happy that this laser engraver has flame detection and an emergency stop button. Seems like all laser engravers should have those features as a standard, but they don't. I plan to add the rotary attachment in the future so I can engrave tumblers and similar items. I selected this laser due to the safety features it has, the expandability with the rotary attachment, and the company reputation of Ortur as a manufacturer of these. I am using Light Burn to get the full potential out of this laser engraver. Light Burn software was purchased separately. I will update my review later after I have used the laser a little more. ... show more

    • Good machine, but no USA based replacement parts
Overall, I like this machine. It did a great job when it was working. Great engraving and cuts on wood and foam, ok/so so engraving on acrylic. Customer support has been fast to respond, and diagnose issues. I've had two: Early on, the laser would simply stop 2/3rd of the way through a long job (of several hours). This was diagnosed as a marginal power supply, and was solved by purchasing a more juicy supply from amazon - that was on 1/30/22 a few days after I received the machine. The Ortur replacement supply arrived today 2/28/22. The second issue was that the mother board died on 2/23/22 I should have returned to Amazon for a replacement machine, as it would have resulted in a faster resolution than Ortur's shipping the replacement part from China, due to arrive on 3/9/22. There were minor issues during assembly, due to unclear directions, and totally wrong installation videos. They did a good job of labeling the wiring, but not the rails. Would have saved me a couple of hours had they simply been labeled front back right and left. Once assembled, the machine seems solid as a rock, and was pleasant to use with Lightburn. The advertised safety features don't work well in real life home use. If there is any daylight at all the the room where it is used, the fire detect goes off constantly unless disabled. The shock alarm also suffered false alarms, rendering both safety features useless unless the machine were bolted down to a heavy table in a dark room. All that being said, the experience was magnitudes better than with the genmitsu machine I bought, which self destructed on it's first day in service, almost burning my house down in the process. Ortur would do well to beef up their local parts support in the US. Ebay seems to have plenty of replacement parts for sale, with faster delivery than from the company itself. I'm looking forward to getting this machine running again, sometime late next week. I really do like the machine. 'nuff said. ... show more
