Are very sturdy yet comfortable. They have extra padding with an extra insert. Need it. I found that the shoe runs a little bit large for me. When I walk is very comfortable and just has a little bit too much room in the toe area. The heel have so much padding. It’s incredible, like walking on pillows.

Nice firm support for large/heavy people...not squishy...The box toe and xx wide width are very comfortable as i have always had a problem with the front of my shoe fitting my wide Hobbit-like foot...seem to be well constructed...after 2 weeks of near constant wear, no signs of defects...i woud recommend these shoes for anyone with wide, hard to fit feer....

These are fine shoes for everday walking. The soles grip well and the various inserts allow the shoes to be helpful for most types of feet.

I have several medical issues, including neuropathy and recurring plantar fascitis, plus a really bad back and knees due to old injuries and several significant surgeries. Finding comfortable shoes that didn't aggrevate my medical issues has always been a problem until now. I've been wearing these shoes for a couple of weeks now and, after a couple of days getting used to them, I am thrilled. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. They fit perfectly and feel like I am walking on cushions. They felt a little heavy at first, but as I said, after a couple of days getting used to them, the heaviness is no longer an issue. I also like the option of using the velcro fasteners or, if you perfer, just tying them on your own. You can do either. And on top of all this, they look sporty and not like some plain, black Frankenstein shoes. I highly recommend these for anyone with foot, back and/or knee problems.

Bought for my husband, who’s recently developed some feet problems. He immediately liked them, noting the comfortable fit. Then, a couple days later, he mentioned these were now his “go to shoes” - which says a great deal, since in the past 35-years of marriage, I can honestly say he’s never been comfortable in tennis shoes, only wearing to work out, etc. After hearing this, I immediately ordered him another style in Orthofeet. BTW, they run true to size, just a whole lot kinder to your feet! The hidden velcro closure is awesome, too, as he doesn’t even need to bend over to tie ‘em. Don’t think about something chesper; just order these!!

Two or three years ago I purchased sneakers from Orthofeet with a width of 2E. The width was rather inadequate which I effectively worked around by buying longer shoelaces. I wore those sneakers constantly for about two years. When I ordered another pair of sneakers (not unnecessarily the same model) I specified 3E width. The sneakers I received were labeled 4E!. If they were 4E then I needed 7E! The sides of the sneakers did not begin to come high enough to support my feet. Before returning them I asked my 54 year old son to try them on. He was satisfied with the fit so he now owns them. I love buying on line for the convenience and rapid delivery, but in this instance I decided to go bricks and mortar and get a physical measurement of my feet. I now have two New Balance sneakers with a 2E width. The proprietor told me the next width up was 4E.. The 2E width on the NB sneakers works..
