Not as deadly as the toxic stuff, but actually smells nice. About 95% effective, so don't throw out the toxic stuff. You won't need the toxic stuff much but you will definitely still need it.

While this product has mixed reviews, I decided to try as every summer I have a fly problem. Flys tend to congregate on my windows. First, product is a little messy and leaves a residue. Smell is a little strong but not unpleasant. First time I sprayed, I tried to spray directly on the flys. One immediately dropped. The rest just scattered. I tried again a few times and it didn't seem to bother them. At this point smell was getting pretty strong. I was disappointed and thought it wasn't going to work. HOWEVER, the next day, all the flys had completed disappeared. It's been a few days now and they haven't come back. I think this product works well, but a little more slowly. I have caged birds and their food sometimes comes with bug larvae hidden in it. This spray is great for killing small moths on contact. But if you have black house flies it doesn't do much. The scent is pleasant and I purchased it because it doesn't harm the birds (although I've never sprayed it where it could come in direct contact with them). ... show more

I use product for time I sit on front porch and on the back stoop. Before I go outside with coffee or tea I spray the porch area and bushes around porch. After it dissipates I'll bring out my beverage to keep spray from getting in drink. After I've sprayed about 3 or 4 days the "skeeters" are gone. For a reasonably good time. Works well. Odor is much better than regular sprays. Seems very "similar" to another brand that seems just as good, but this is better economically. Make sure you buy the right version of "Home Defender. Worked very quickly. Essential oils made it a bit "oily" to wipe up, but well worth the trade off, IMO. A few people ive told of this have switched from another brand and are perfectly happy with this one. I'll buy again. Hope this helps. ... show more
