I've had this since Jun 19, 2023, and it has yet to give me any issues. Any issues I've had are user error. It's tolerable in terms of loudness between a much quieter than a blender but louder than a microwave. I would recommend using this with a fume hood/outside door open/or even outside if you are sensitive to faint smells/chemicals in the air as the pump uses oil slowly as it's on which dissipates into the air. I've made molds for candles, Dice, degassed resin, and they all come out good. Do look up what negative pressures you need for certain things like candies/food, resin, and the like. It comes with enough oil to use it for quite a few times, but I would recommend grabbing more vacuum pump oil as it will run out at some point. ... show more

To start it came with barely enough oil to operate. Assembly was easy even though instructions are terrible. Very easy to use, pulled a vacuum easily and released a great amount of bubbles from my resin.

It took a moment to figure out that portions of the assembly instructions are now performed at the factory, such as the air filter installation on the air intake valve. Other than that, you really have to be intuitive about setup. I got the 3.5 gallon chamber and it needed additional washers, provided but not mentioned, to create the snug fit of the valve assembly. * I do not get a full -1 atmosphere but I get about .95 so who is counting? * If your fitting to your valve assembly is not tight enough to hold the valve upright, use more washers below a second silicon washer to take up the space. * Remember to apply downward pressure when you first start the vacuum process. INSTRUCTION BOOK IS HORRIBLE. HAD TO GET ONLINE AND BLOW UP PICTURES AND DO IT BY SIGHT. ONCE TOGETHER IT WORKS AS IT SHOULD.

    • If you’re new to using a degassing chamber do some research and learn how to use it.

The media could not be loaded. This is my first time using a degassing chamber other than pouring the oil into the wrong place lol it went very well. I was a little confused about the valves so I watched a bunch of YouTube videos. Unfortunately, there wasn’t one video on YouTube for this machine in particular. So I had to watch a few different ones. Once I learned the valves It was a piece of cake. I am a resin artist and a silicone mold maker. I specialize in 3d mold making and with using the “self degassing” silicone, still a lot of bubbles get trapped under different parts of the piece I’m molding. This vacuum chamber is definitely a must have. I wish I purchased it a year ago, it is definitely going to improve the quality of my molds and it already has!
