This antenna works as well as the original, which I also can't find. Don't become 68 years old with too much stuff. It's too easy to put things in a spot that makes perfect sense as a long-term storage spot. Apparently it's not because I can't remember that "perfect spot" now. At least I have one of the antennas on the radio. It works very well indeed. I recommend this antenna to anyone with a BAOFENG UV-5RA.

Fit my Baofeng UV5R just fine and works significantly better than the old antenna that the radio came with probably about 7 or 8 years ago. Looks identical and fits good.

Bought 2 and compared to an original they are slightly different: slightly longer, smoother plastic texture, and label on the bottom is different. But SWR was ~ 1.3 on VHF and 1.1 on UHF so they should work ok. Have not compared actual range to original. It seems I got a couple of good ones, better luck than other buyers. But would not recommend unless you have a way to test the ones you get, either SWR meter or network analyzer like NanoVNA (which I bought on Amazon and like a lot).

The pair I received are Baofeng and work perfectly. They aren’t the best for long range but work just fine for boat to boat communications while coordinating filming.

Both antennas were defective. SWR measurements are greater than 10 : 1. Can't get 2 HAM repeaters that are only a few miles away. I doubt these are genuine Baofeng antennas. The antennas that came with my Baofeng radios all measure 1.5 : 1 and work great. I may have to get genuine antennas from Baofengtech.com.

These antennas are much more shoddily assembled than even the ones that came with my Baofeng radios, which is saying a lot. They are bent, the connectors are not straight, and the glue lets go at the slightest provocation. I expected them to be the same as the stock ones, which are flimsy but usable; unfortunately, they're much worse. Quality standards for Baofeng radio accessories are already a bar low enough to trip over, but these antennas somehow manage to fall short of even that.

I purchased 8 of these antennas. They look OEM even down to the markings however performance was terrible on 2 meters beyond 100ft! Put them in the the Rig Expert analyzer and found they have zero resonance for 2m and poor resonance at 70 cm. Lowest SWR on VHF was >25:1. Lowest SWR on UHF was 3.2:1 at 403 MHz
