I have midfoot arthritis in my right foot which has gotten worse in the last few years. I am scheduled to have fusion surgery in a few months, but in the meantime, walking has grown increasingly painful. I have tried every shoe and orthotic, some are better than others, but, surprisingly, these are the best. I have the Oofos flip flops but only wear them around the house. They help a lot, but I wouldn’t wear them out. the Oofos closed toe gym shoe didn’t work for me, they were too wide at the toe box and really not attractive. I saw these and they looked nice so I decided to take a chance. I don’t ordinarily wear clog type shoes and was worried that they would not stay on, but I was pleasantly surprised. I have medium to narrow width feet, so if your feet are wide these might not be the best for you, but for me, they are perfect. The arch support is great, just like my flip flops. They stay on and I can even drive in them (which I wasn’t sure I could do). Some reviewers suggested they get hot, but I live in a cooler climate, so that’s not a problem for me. I do wear them with socks when I go out. Ok, they aren’t the most beautiful and look a bit like slippers, but until I have my surgery, they make walking so much better! I bought these to help with recovery after running and they quickly became my new office shoes. While they are quite nice on the feet with the arch support and more snug, rubberized fit than Crocs, I find myself missing the roomier, bumpy interior of my Crocs, and also the fun colors. I would definitely recommend trying a pair on at a store before ordering or finind a way to try before you buy, because the way the arch is built into the shoe might not be good for some people. ... show more

    • Beware when tread is worn down

These are great. Love 'em. Wear them to the gym, walk into the shower with them and don't need to bother with socks, sneakers etc. My only warning is to please be very, very careful and monitor the tread on the bottom, especially if you are ELDERLY/prone to falling. Once worn down smooth, it's extremely easy to hydroplane on a very smooth hard surface when wet (eg a painted cement garage floor). I once slipped on a painted arrow or line on the pavement while crossing the street after a storm and bit it HARD. Learn from my mistake. ... show more

These shoes are wonderful. A friend recommended them for plantar fasciitis. I was afraid to try something new and cause a flare-up. I shouldn't have worried. They felt a little weird the first time, but the next time I put them on they were perfect. I took one star off for unattractiveness. I wear M11 and I ordered M11 and it fits ok. There is extra toe room, but the middle of the foot fit could not be smaller, so this is my shoe. The do have a clown shoe look - large round end, but I don't care if my heel has less pain. So far, I think that it helps.

I am 74. have psoriatic arthritis in my feet which makes walking very painful. I love the way these arches angle my feet up so the balls and toes of my feet don’t come down hard. It’s wonderful to be able to walk without that pain again. The only problem is they don’t make half sizes. I am normally a size 9, so I got the nines, but they are are too big and my foot slides around in them causing instability and rubbing that is irritating to my toes. I tried the size 8, but they are just too small. I would so appreciate it if they would create an 8 1/2 that would fit me perfectly. I wear socks to take up some of the room but it’s not a perfect solution and while two spares of socks would be better it’s too hot outsid. I feel like I am in danger of losing my balance sometimes. But they have really come up with an ingenious solution for people with arthritic feet like mine. There’s a whole new clientele waiting to find the shoes in the right size. I did get the sandals in size 9, and they are sized correctly for me, but they are not as soft or angled, just right like the clogs are.
