  • Normally don't use "Extra Virgin" olive oil, but for tastes sake I decided to give it a try.
Extra Virgin olive oil has a low smoke point, so most of my olive oil use is in frying. The olive oil I use is made to have a high smoke point so you can pan or stir-fry with it. I typically buy salad dressings pre-made, but since I do like to cook and prepare foods. I thought this would be a good time to try. I picked up some tomatoes and fresh head lettuce a few days ago, and I had parsley, and some fresh and some dried herbs. Most recipes for Italian herb dressing call for all fresh ingredients, but some are harder to keep. I used dried oregano, basil, and thyme, but had fresh lemon, fresh Vidalia onions, and fresh cracked pepper. I used a hard to get and expensive Celtic Sea Salt, and white wine vinegar over distilled white. I mixed up a batch with half cup of this premium extra virgin olive oil and made a simple salad. The salad only has lettuce, vine ripened tomatoes, diced, and freshly grated parmesan cheese. Italian herb dressing made it special, and the oil vinegar herb mix really stood out. That was yesterday for a side salad with dinner. Today for breakfast, I mixed with avocado oil to raise the smoke point, added some unsalted butter, minced onions, and pan fried some hash browns for breakfast. It's lunchtime now so my final use test is to brush a premade pizza crust with this olive oil before adding the tomato sauce, cheese, mushrooms and pepperoni. I brush my homemade pizza crusts with olive oil, to prevent a soggy crust it creates a barrier to stop the water-based tomato sauce from soaking in too far. I could really discern the difference from my usual non virgin olive oils. Since this part of the pizza is not fried and it's under the topping, it doesn't get denatured by a low smoke point. The flavor came out nicely. High quality stuff not much more expensive than many grocery brands. Recommended. ... show more

  • We are trying new flavors
What happens when you get a cook book, you get told repeatedly again, again, again, oh wait maybe... AGAIN to use olive oil. With that said works great for some of the Italian dishes we have been learning.

  • Love!
Great EVOO and good quality container! No leaks, and the top seals back on without a mess. I've used this with all three meals and the flavor it adds is mild but noticeable.

  • Wonderful fresh flavor, great for salad dressings
This extra virgin olive oil packs an especially flavorful punch that highlights salad dressings, bread dipping, and other impactful uses for uncooked oil. It is on the pricey side for extra virgin, but is more deeply flavorful than some cheaper brands. The oil comes nicely packaged in 3 500 mL glass bottles, which have a pour spout at the top. The oil is pretty average in color - deep greenish yellow. Flavor-wise, this olive oil has a robust flavor with a moderate peppery finish, surprisingly strong compared to other olive oils. The pepperiness isn't excessive, especially when you mix it into a salad dressing. The olive oil does bring a more pronounced, rich flavor into dressings compared to a more basic olive oil. I did try this one in sauteeing as well, and it can work for saute if you use a lower heat. Overall this is a good quality olive oil that is best for unheated use, and could be worth getting if you want to try this brand out. ... show more

  • 3 pack will last a while!
I got the 3 pack of EVOO. For $13 each, this isn't a bad price. I was very impressed by how it arrived--neatly arranged in a cardboard box that was easy to open, yet well protected. I'm no EVOO afficionado, but this has a good, clean flavor. I didn't taste any distinct floral or peppery notes. These three bottles will last a good amount of time, as I like to use it to roast vegetables with. ... show more

  • Nice, general use Olive Oil
This is a nice quality “Olitalia Extra Virgin Olive Oil - ORO 100% Italiano 3-Pack 16.9 fl oz 500 ml Harvested, Extracted and bottled in Italy. Italian EVOO” You get the 3 bottles as mentioned. They come in these square-shaped bottles which I know seems like a dumb thing, but it really makes storage so much nicer. They have a decent shelf life and the flavor is a great high quality for a reasonable price for Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This is something that you would find in a high-quality restaurant for dipping, it is great for cooking, for making sauces with or salad dressings. It is not overly bitter/overly flavorful with the olives. So it is a healthy option for those who like the lighter flavored Extra Virgin Olive Oils. ... show more

  • Pure and slightly robust EVOO
My family goes through EVOO quite extensively and varies between different consistencies and flavor profiles. This Olitalia falls in the middle for me. It has a decent consistency (not too thin or syrupy) and the taste is there without overpowering what you may be using it for. Personally, I’d choose this ‘natural’ line for salad dressing (EVOO and champagne vinegar), soup bases, dipping for bread, and to sauté veggies. ... show more
