  • Awesome Snow Shoes
We went snow shoeing this last weekend, with a significant amount of snow. My shoes worked well and seem to be very well built. Worth the money I paid since I only go a couple times a year. I would highly recommend these snow shoes to anyone looking. I ordered a 25 and they were perfect as I am 5'7 and 151 lbs. Easy on and easy off, tightening was very easy as well with no slippage at all. ... show more

  • These are slightly better than average for inexpensive snowshoes. No instructions at all.
Note: the description claims that these are "Design [sic] for Skiing". Obviously they are not. They are designed for snowshoeing. There is no skiing going on with these snowshoes whatsoever. Unless you want to carry your snowshoes while you ski. As for the snowshoes themselves, I've tried a few pairs of these introductory snowshoes and these are ever so slightly better than all the others. I liked that the heel strap is nylon strapping, rather than the rigid plastic, making it a bit more comfortable and much less likely to break (as rigid plastic tends to do when cold). The two front straps are that rigid sort of plastic, and they have the ratcheting mechanism to tighten them. Time will tell if the plastic actually holds up, instead of snapping like on my first pair of snowshoes. I did struggle with the ratcheting mechanism when getting out of the snowshoes, even though I generally understood how they were meant to work. Some instructions are important to include with products like this. Either I'm missing some small detail of pulling the lever, or they aren't well designed. Only good instructions would clear that up. The decking is a nice middle ground between flexible and strong, as it allows for more comfortable walking while still supporting a person. The poles are a useful addition. They aren't super strong (aluminum), but for casual use they are fine. Oh, and the twist direction for changing the length of the poles is, perhaps, backwards. So if it doesn't seem to be loosening, try the other direction. And the different attachments for the bottom are separate, and you need to remove the rubber bottom that it comes with before putting on the wider ski-pole type ones. With no instructions, I had to figure all this out by experimentation. Note that these are indeed casual snowshoes, bulky and wide, and not necessarily made to last a long time (again, that rigid plastic + cold is a recipe for breakage), and not super comfortable, but these seem like a good enough product for shorter adventures. ... show more

  • A great entry-level set to get you on your way.
I’ve committed to be more fit and active during the winter season to make February less painful when it’s time to trim down for Spring. One of my more sadistic friends has encouraged me to join in his hobby of snowshoeing. I don’t know why one would do that when they could just hop on a snowmobile instead. Or just stay home and drink hot chocolate for that matter. Oh well. To each his own. I ordered the 30” size because I am 5’6” and 170 pounds. I am a novice to all this so I don’t know that my opinion should carry much weight. However, my friend is a little more experienced and we inspected this gear together. The snowshoes were impressive in their build quality yet they are very light in weight. While I don’t have experience with these, the construction seems solid by any manufacturing standard. In full disclosure, it has not snowed yet here in northern Arizona, however after a dry run on the lawn, everything fit, moved and held up as expected. Walking in them is definitely an acquired skill. All the buckles and rivets and connections remained firm and secure. They felt about as comfortable as snowshoes can feel. The ratchet system makes adjustments easy. The poles are light and feel good in your hands. I love the colors I picked. Very bright and vibrant. Although, maybe not the best color for search and rescue teams. If I had to offer two criticisms, it would be these. First, the bag is very, very thin. They come packed with thick cardboard to keep the cleats from cutting anything. My fear is that the bag won’t take much abuse at all. Be super careful how you repack them in there and maybe keep the cardboard, although it will quickly become soggy if you pack the snowshoes immediately after use. It’s definitely not commensurate with the quality of the rest of the kit. My other concern is the clamps on the pole. They work great and securely held the legs extended, but they open very easily. If you catch them on something, they’ll flip open and you’ll have to stop and mess with them. Not enough to take away a star, but just something to consider. Overall I am super happy and looking forward to putting them to use. Kinda. ... show more

  • They seem to work really well
I've been waiting to get a decent amount of snow to try these outhough it's just not happening for us this year so far. But we got a few inches So I thought I would try them out. They strap to your boots really well really easy setup the polls are extendable and adjustable It comes with a nice case that holds it all. I have not got to try them in deep snow yet but I wanted to see how they would work with less snow and ice underneath. They did do really well the spikes on the bottom gave you plenty of traction and it did seem to keep you on top of the snow pretty well. I can't wait to use them ice fishing when our temperatures stay cold enough for me to trust the ice. I know This was not a full test but I hope it helps. ... show more

  • Nice snowshoes, but the poles kept collapsing on me…
I have two sets of snowshoes from this company and the heel strap is different on this one and so it was easier to tighten them enough to fit a smaller woman’s foot (6.5) than the other pair. I love these snowshoes. They work well. The poles are a different style from my other pair. These snap closed around the pole, but will still slide a little, or unsnap if they get caught on something. That was a little frustrating. Other than that, I’m very happy to have these! ... show more
