  • Inexpensive insurance when on the water
Color: 42'' Orange-1 Size: 21''-42''
For $14, this is a great deal. I have touring kayaks, and I always keep a full size spare paddle under the bungees on my front deck, but this is great to have stowed away in the hull. If I lose one paddle, I'll use my full-size spare, and have this as my backup. (Truth be told, my main paddle is on a leash, so losing it is highly unlikely, but stranger things have happened.) This paddle also floats. Good for storing in your canoe or little row boat or fishing boat. Read the little pamphlet about assembly and use. You HOLD the knurled fittings, and TWIST the shafts to lock or loosen the shaft length. The handle, for ergonomics, should be at about 15º, relative to the paddle blade. A little finesse and fully tightening will yield that angle. One reviewer said the handle was at 90º to the paddle, but it is likely the shafts were not tightened correctly. Cheap insurance, for when you're on the water, so you don't get caught "up sheet creek without a paddle." ... show more

  • Good for row boat
Color: 42'' Orange-1 Size: 21''-42''
Overall the quality of this oar is pretty good. I'm putting this on my 14-ft aluminum boat in case I need it

  • Good emergency paddle
Color: 42'' Orange-1 Size: 21''-42''
As an emergency paddle, or just messing around on a tube, this fits the bill. It is nice and compact when stored, and offers a fully adjustable, decent length when needed. It also floats, a huge plus, and comes in bright colors. As far as the paddle, I'm disappointed that the T handle cannot be adjusted for the paddle angle. Some other twist lock styles will let you twist THEN lock, so you can set it where you want This twists AND locks, so there is no adjustment. While the twist has a very fine feel and locks on quite well, I'm a little afraid that if it started getting salt in it, it may not function so smoothly. Still, as an emergency or tubing type sports paddle, this makes a good option, especially at this price point. ... show more

  • Great!
Color: 42'' Orange-2 Size: 21''-42''
These telescoping backup paddles are light, sturdy, and easy to deploy and stow. Assembly was pretty simple and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Apparently they float if you happen to drop them in the water and are brightly-colored so they'll be easy to spot. I'm planning to replace an old wooden paddle in my fishing boat with one of these since it is starting to split after years of use. ... show more

  • Came apart
Color: 42'' Blue-1 Size: 21''-42''
These paddles for emergencies. They collapses to fit in a very small area and extends for use. The twist grips to perform this action are easy to operate and lock solid. I recommend the orange/red color as it can be used to wave to signal someone's attention. I am very disappointed in this brand as it came apart immediately. ... show more

  • Super Compact and Strong Little Paddle
Color: 42'' Blue-1 Size: 21''-42''
I ordered this product to bring on longer kayaking trips. I have considered bringing another full-size paddle, but space is limited on longer trips with more gear, and this is a perfect solution. This is a really durable paddle when fully extended. I was a bit skeptical. The blade is hard plastic - I could barely bend it. For sure, I thought it was going to be like the material on $20 kayak paddles, but I was pleasantly surprised by this. The paddle is highly visible. It comes in some bright colors, and I chose the blue because it best matched my kayak. I have my new paddle shown attached with my deck rigging. I plan on using some hook and loop tape / straps on the inside of my hull to keep it firmly in place and out of the way. Great product. ... show more

These paddles are light weight, yet strong, fold up small and tuck away easily! These are great to keep tucked away just in case of an emergency. Plus, its brightly colored! Hard to lose.

  • Handy paddle with quite a few features, but a few annoyances
Color: 42'' Yellow-1 Size: 21''-42''
We ordered this paddle not as an “emergency” paddle, but for our river rafting trips. This paddle has several very nice features. We’ve lost a few paddles on the river before. The fact that this one floats is a big plus. It’s compact, only 20” when compressed, nice for storage. We always tie a lanyard on our paddles to help prevent loss. This paddle come pre-drilled with a hole to allow you to tie a cord on it. The adjustable length is great. Longer if you’re in a canoe, shorter if you’re on a river tube. Oddly, the “T” handle has two holes for a spring-lock tab, but only has a single spring-lock on the shaft. I'd think it'd be stronger with dual spring-lock tabs. It does have an annoying problem that keeps it from being a 5-star review. In my mind, the “T” handle should be parallel to the paddle. It’s odd to have the paddle at 0 degrees and the “T” handle at 90 degrees. I’d prefer it lay flat on the wall or wherever it’s stored. Sometimes when I twist to tighten, it’s flat, most of the time, it’s not. Annoying. Overall, a great little paddle loaded with helpful features and only a few annoyances. ... show more
