    • Subversive device! Works "most times", sometimes requires a second read attempt
For the price, this certainly does the job. It's a little bit touch sometimes, both in "scan" mode and in direct-read mode. Scan sometimes runs through all combinations and says "tag can't be read", even though a second scan might do the trick. Same with direct reads - set the device to the card's known settings, and press "read" - it has about a 76-85% success rate on reading certain cards. Can't tell if it's the card or the device, but *seems* to be the device's fault. Either way, I can take it for the value (price, features) that it offers, and the limited use I'll give it. NO WAY would I recommend this device for "more frequent use". I only recommend it for light/experimental/one-time/limited use, or where you want to "play around" and see what you can do. ... show more

There might be an update or way to hook it up to a computer to get it to write that I'm not aware of but out of the box, it reads but doesn't write anything!

Put batteries in and it powered on, but the screen didn’t turn on, screen is all black

Will not write to anything including the cards that it came with. Don’t waste your money when it comes to this. I guess you get what you pay for
