the quality of this PFD is excellent and definately worth the premium. It's fit and finish are great and it is very comfortable so there is no excuse for not wearing one. As an offshore kayak fisherman I appreciate the high viz orange color and VHF radio pocket. I wish there was a convenient spot within the radio pocket to attach the lanyard. I also wish the utility pockets were slightly larger, but it isn't a deal breaker. I also use this PFD for inshore kayak fishing as well. I am 5'9" 180 lbs and the Adult Large-Extra large fits me just right with the shoulder straps cinched all the way down. If you are shorter, you might want to go the next size down. There is plenty of adjustment both directions for the chest size. This is a great PFD; I highly recommend it. ... show more

I started using this for fishing, but then ended up racing on an outrigger canoe team and this became my gear for it. It’s incredibly durable because practices and races are super rough on it, but it holds steady and cleans easily. I wear it several times a week and do a TON of movement in it, and it’s able to withstand the action. Great zipper pockets of various sizes, strong clips, easy to adjust, and plenty of room to paddle in easily. It’s hearty and I trust it to save me, since I’ve flipped my boat in it before. Water does deep into the pockets through the zipper, so still wrap your phone or whatever is important to you. I use the pockets for snacks, my inhaler, keys, etc and it does fine. I even ironed a patch onto it and the material was super strong and willing to accept it. It’s very well made. I’d buy it again. Would love if there was an option to add a CamelPak bladder for hydration. ... show more

I use this every month when I go kayak fishing. It is comfortable with the high back for kayaking. It is also functional with several pockets for storing necessities. I have had it for about a year and it has held up well.

Invest in them first and don"t be afraid to spend a little extra for these two important items.
