First the sizing is perfect. I have a pair of Merrell mid height hiking boots that just ripped, with Superfeet Green Support Comfort Insoles . I took the inserters out of the 8,5 merrell and put them in these 8.5 Tactical Work Boots and they fit perfect. So the size is same as other more expensive rugged footwear. I have been wearing these for 2 hours and want to tell everyone these are more comfortable than my $195 Merrell shoes. I haven't had them out in the cold yet but will update on performance. I can tell you they are too hot to wear in the house, but of course that's not what they are made for I just wanted to test them out before wearing them outside. Cant wait to get to hiking with them. Also want to mention the zipper opening is large enough for me to get my foot in without uniting as I have seen other people say about other zipper shoes on here, these are perfect. If they are as good after taking a hike I will buy a second pair I like them that much so far. ... show more

Very comfortable for my 65-year-old feet with neuropathy. I was pleasantly surprised they felt so warm and especially comfortable during the first fitting. Tho, keep in mind, these are BOOTS ... not sneakers. So they will feel very "booty." They might actually be very excellent in the snow. But I'm just hoping to keep the rain off my tired old feet. And with the zipper flap (as seen in the photo), I'm assuming they will. I will update this review if they fail to keep my feet reasonably dry in wet weather. But do keep in mind, these ARE boots. I found driving with them a little difficult as it is harder to feel the gas and break pedals when compared to my sneakers. And until they break in a little (I hope) I DO feel a little like Herman Munster when I walk around. But I have to expect that as ... I've said ... they ARE boots and not sneakers. I've had low rise hiking sneakers that do offer some moderate wet weather protection and STILL feel as good as sneakers when driving. But these are high rise boots, so you will feel the difference. They DO come off pretty easy with the side zippers, but I do require a long handle shoe horn to get them ON my feet using the side zipper. Which is much easier than unlacing and re-lacing up the entire boot. All that being said, I am pleased with these boots and at the cost. If they hold up for a few years, I'll be very happy with them. ... show more

    • Comfortable cheap and sturdy

I am very ruff of shoes and usually run through a pair every three months so I’m surprised to say I’ve had them for a little over four months and they are still in tack very comfortable and still look great. For the first week they dig into your ankles but it’s not to bad. I love how they fit and look plus they are quite tough. They have a air pocket not to sure if it’s a defect but it’s in both shoes in the same spot between the toe and arch and it makes it super comfortable. 9/10 would 100 recommend and also to go with it for colder weather the freesoldier have a good product not quite as good but good. ... show more

Hey, if I wanted top of the line, I'd have to pay for it. I've tried other brands, Keen, Wolverine, Red Wings, and they're all great. But you pay for them. So here is my try into an inexpensive boot, we'll see how it holds up to my agriculture field. These are well made at my initial view. They are comfortable, I like walking in them, good support. I do use OTC insoles though, can't do manufacturers insoles anymore at my age. Good boot so far. Would be nice to be more weather/water resistant, but it is what it is. I am trying these specifically because I want to try the zip out boot. I need the ankle support of laces, but I love the ease of slipping on and off. So here's hoping. ... show more

I purchased these for my son. I was happy to find them in his size 13 as that's not always easy. The fit is good and he likes the side zipper for easy on/off. One of the features he was happiest about was the slip resistance. He works in a kitchen. He trusted in this and ended up having a pretty bad fall while carrying a heavy oversized box. He slipped, went straight down on his back and the box followed right on top of his chest. So if that is an important feature, be careful. Otherwise it's a nice boot....probably not the best for kitchen work or any other wet floor environment. He's had them about a month so no idea on durability over time and they couldn't be daily wearers for him. ... show more

    • The standard width was a tad too narrow for my foot.

Many of the prior reviewers felt that this boot ran pretty true to size. I wore a 10C for many years in dress shoes, but more recently have fond that a 10.5 size fit better. I ordered these in that size, so it would accommodate also a thicker sock. The pair that arrived felt a little long (boots didn't bend at my natural foot bend) and also a tad too narrow. I returned them for a refund, and I am awaiting the arrival of this boot in a 10 Wide. I will update this review when I have been able to assess that new size. I do have to applaud the online return process - easy and efficient, to wit: I dropped off the returned pair at a UPS store yesterday around 3:20 PM and early this morning, I received an email message that the refund was being processed back to my bank.     • Quick break in, fit and support great

I recently went on Safari, bought these to compliment the extensive walking I was ready to do in African Bush Veld. These boots did great. I am an experienced hiker and found these boots broke in fast, gave me no hotspots in 150K plus steps in 8 days. Also kept feet dry when alking through wet gress (I also had gaiters while wearing these boots) I liked the zip up feature and added velcro tab to secure ankle support. I work in a busy 911 EMS service and these boots are amazing, with one caveat. The insoles that are provided with the boot are closer to concrete than padding. I have back issues anyway, so I substituted them with Copper Fit Work Insoles which make me feel like I’m walking on a cloud. Otherwise, the fit and finish of the boots feel much higher quality. The zipper zips well, no snagging or bunching. I’m unsure how they hold up but in a month, I’ll update on here. Update: 12/09/22 These are holding up super well! I still recommend them! ... show more
