I got this for my 11 year old daughter, who is currently learning violin and this has been a great help. She is dyslexic, so this has helped her keep track of what is where. I did knock one star off, only because I don't see it holding up very long as the overall quality seems pretty low.

I'm not sure what this offers that any set of $1 little stick-on letters wouldn't. It's not as though these are perfectly aligned, or offer any special features. Maybe they stand up to a lot of handling? I dunno... just seems overly complicated and costly for what it is.

We got this for my daughter who just got a violin and she says this is helping her. She says that it helps her when she is trying to figure things out, which is cool, things like this help keep her interest alive. Kids tend to give up quickly on instruments and we want her to stick with it.

When learning to play the violin, I had some fingerboard labels like this, but they were blue. I sometimes struggled to see the letters and positions. These labels are white on black and the white just pops out, making it so much easier to see. Also, the letters are big and the lines are thick, which helps. This fingerboard label will make learning how to play the violin much easier for beginners because they will be able to see where to place their fingers on the fingerboard and which notes that position will play. The label can be peeled off the backing and placed very carefully (and straight) against the nut at the end of the fingerboard. It can be peeled off again later when the positions have been learned and it supposedly won’t leave any residue on the fingerboard. The corresponding note reference chart will be very helpful for beginners to understand the relationship between the notes they are playing, and what those notes look like on a music staff so they can learn to read music, if they don’t know already. The chart is rather small, but it seems like it’s meant to be the exact size as the fingerboard label, so the correspondence can be easily seen.
