I was nervous about a product with such a low price being a cheap knock-off of a brand name but that doesn't seem to be true. They look exactly like the Holmes branded product. They fit perfectly into my HAP650 air purifier and have exactly the same dimensions, plastic latch tab spacing and plastic thickness of the branded product they replaced. Filter material looks the same but I have no way of telling if the filter material mesh density is the same except by using them to see if the pre-filters catch more or less stuff due to changed air flow volume because mesh density is different. A claim of the branded filter that this filter does not make is about some sort of additional mold fighting. Since the only mold substance that comes in contact with any filter like this is mold spores the claim is irrelevant as long as filter efficiency is as claimed. Filter efficiency is claimed the same for both products (99.97%) and since mold spores are relatively large particles, they would be filtered out by either product. As far as I know, mold spores are biologically inactive until they get in a growth medium, which any filter does not provide (any filter wet component would dry-out from the moving air). The only visual difference I see is that the gasket material and glue (filter to plastic frame) are different colors than the branded version but have the same apparent thickness and density. If after using them for a month if I notice any apparent change in air volume filtered (as indicated by the amount of stuff on the pre-filter) I'll update this review. No update means I saw no significant change. update 2/11/19 after 1 month of using my air purifiers with both a Holmes branded filter and this filter installed i see no difference in the amount of stuff caught on the prefilters. to me this means that the volume of air flow is close to the same, which means that filter material pore size is close to the same (since air flow is restricted to about the same level). in the end, i see no significant filtering efficiency difference between this brand and the Holmes brand. based solely on the price difference between this brand and the Holmes brand i am adding an extra star to my review. this brand appears to be superbly cost effective. i never rate a product 5 star unless it serves a unique function or provides superb functionality ... show more

Really nice to find package with more than 2 HEPA filters when 3 are required. HEPA and pre filters fit perfectly, nice tight fit, and price was right.. HEPA appear to be of better quality than ones I've previously purchased. Happy with purchase.

This is not a complicated item. We have owned our Holmes air filter for 15-20 years. We could no longer find actual Holmes filters to replace dirty ones, so I bought these. They look and work identically to the actual Holmes ones. They work together with carbon filters and remove an incredible amount of dust. Our machine tells you when its time to change the filters. I was concerned that this replacement filter was not manufactured by Homes, the original manufacturer. Both the main and pre filter were perfect fits. The filter material is the same as the original filter.

I figured I’d give these a try and I have been very happy with them. They work just as good as the Holmes brand and for a much better price. It did have a smell the first hour and faded. The smell was not unpleasant nor strong, just smells like a new product.
