Ill start with admitting I had bought the wrong item. I thought I bought a hitch bracket and the lights. This unit arrived and I decided to make it work. Eventually I installed it and it works great. I did not attach the lights to the reverse lights but left the wiring with the option to do so in the future. I went overkill on the fabric wrapping tape, liquid tape, soldering vs splicing but I did that more for my sanity and entertainment not concern over exposure to the elements. I have a Silverado 1500 (bed is 6'5") and had to extend the wiring. The lights are lightweight and very bright. The sturdiness I am sure will allow them to last many years. I wanted them above the bumper because nothing good ever happens below the bumper. I had to buy the hitch hook to extend the bracket away from the bumper. Without that hook, the lights and bracket would not have fit. I am 100% satisfied and know you will be also. I don't use my truck for work this setup works for me. Did not work straight out of the box. I ordered a second set as a backup just in case the first set did not work. I had one issue after another. I had no instructions so I had many things wired backwards. When I finally got it all hooked up correctly, it worked great. I do not like the connectors they provided and not having no instructions took me much longer than expected. I am still returning them because I realized you can purchase the lights and wiring separately instead of in the kit for $10 less. Maybe it will include the instructions. ... show more
