I want to be clear that I like these lights. I really do. But this isn't a custom-designed kit where you follow a few directions and everything works great. You'll need to do a little planning with this, and probably more than a little troubleshooting before you're done. The package comes with two sets of four lights. Each strand has ample lead wire, depending on the distance it needs to be run and it's possible to disconnect some of the light units without cutting wire, thanks to inline connectors.. When possible, it may be better to tie your power into a closer electrical systems than a direct line to the battery, but even that's what you need to do, you may well have enough additional wire to get there. I installed these on a 2021 Ford Ranger, which has a termination under the bed from the factory (this is actually intended for use with a Ford accessory that installs a power port in the bed), which I used this as my source of power. Of course, you'll not want these to run continuously, so the kit includes two switches (SPDT), along with a bit of mounting hardware for the lights. Enough people have complained that no wiring instructions are given, so apparently, they started including them. Unfortunately, the diagram in mine was actually backward. The center pole on the switch is power input as indicated, but the "on" pole is on the "off" side of the switch, instead of the "on" side as indicated. Bottom line, get a simple multimeter, put it in continuity mode, and test the switch before you use it. Other than that, I'm pretty pleased. The 3M tape on the lights seems to be holding well, though I found I needed to apply a fair amount of pressure to ensure they held. The light is nicely bright and works great. I made a small wooden block with a hole the right size for the switch and used some double-sided tape to affix it to the corner of my bed. I made plenty of wiring mistakes and had to do a bit of troubleshooting (hint: check your fuses), but after several hours of toying around, this non-electrician managed to get the job done.

The media could not be loaded. Black wire with white stripe is NEGATIVE, all black wire is POSITIVE. That really got me because when I see all black wire I see a ground. Didn’t think to switch until I was about to rip it out and send back. That AND, the switch is backwards. Whatever the little instruction paper they gave is wrong and you need to hook it up backwards. Had to drill a 3/4” hole in my bed to fit switch. So that’s the size you will need. And yes, you can hook up everything on one switch you do not need two unless it’s what you want. Lights up great, I have nothing but great things to say about this company. I have had many purchases before and will continue buying their product. I have a 52” light bar I bought and use on my boat in saltwater daily that has been going strong without a hiccup for years now. They are a reliable, reputable company. 5 stars every time. But fix your wiring to where we can tell positive from negative or put in the instructions what wire is what and fix the instructions for the switch so people will know.

It peels up with the original sticky side. It is big, I could have covered way more than I did I cut the piece in half to get the front deck on my boat. Overall, good quality, needs better glue, great price.

I love the idea of these. I have a Jeep Wrangler, they don't have dome lights. I thought these would be great, their water proof so when I have the top down no worries if it rains. I strung one string on the roll bar for up front and the other I put up under the lip in the back (I took my back seat out years ago) so their hidden and would give me light in the back. I waited too long to put them in, the string in back does not work and its too late to return (thats on me). The one up front works great and gives me plenty of light. If the back one worked I would give it 5 stars for what I'm using it for. They're easy to install and give out plenty of light. The option to use screws or use the sticky back to stick it on is great. You can use which ever is best for where you're putting them. The sticky part is pretty strong so make sure where you want it before sticking it on. I would recommend these but stress to check out both strings when they arrive to be sure they both work. I may have just gotten a bad one, it happens. I do love the versatility of these lights, you could use them almost any where you need light. Each string having its own switch is great also. It would be fun if you could change the color of the light, too!
