Average Shoes, Below-Average Customer Support I bought these shoes and the comfort is fine, not bad, not great, just average. After maybe a dozen wears, though, they started squeaking. And not the “playing basketball” kind of squeak (I’m 55 and 195 lbs., I'm too old and too fat - those days are long gone). I mean squeaking on everything... concrete, carpet, steps, doesn’t matter. If I’m walking, I’m squeaking. I called Amazon but had missed the return window. Fair enough, I have a lot of shoes (some might say a problem), so it can be a while between wears. Amazon told me to contact Nike. I drove an hour to a Nike Outlet, and they told me they couldn’t help since I didn’t buy them there. Fair enough again. Then I called Nike directly, and they told me to ship the shoes in for inspection, at my expense. Nike pays for return shipping only. A week later I got this response: “After a thorough inspection, we’ve determined the issue is not a result of a material or manufacturing flaw.” So basically, I paid to send my shoes in so Nike could tell me it’s not their problem. When I asked for the inspection notes, photos, or even an explanation ...and... silence. Look, I get it, these aren’t $250 high end Nikes, but that shouldn’t matter. Stand behind your product or don’t. I didn’t expect a free pair of shoes, just an honest acknowledgment that a product failed after light use. At this point, the only sound I hear louder than my shoes squeaking is the crickets from Nike’s customer service.

I purchased these shoes for my husband, as he has had the same pair of Nike Shox for roughly 15 years - REFUSING to get a new pair of shoes. When looking, I kept seeing these would be the closest model to the pair he loves (and refuses to give up). They came in, he tried them on, and instantly said "Wow, these feel like nothing on your feet!" As hes the most difficult person to shop for, I anticipated having to return them. Since purchasing hes worn them to walk casually, to play golf, and to walk. He is loyal to his Nike and if you love the old shox - these are a great option!
