  • Rock Steady
Style: Wheel Stand DD
I’ve had lesser racing wheel setups and lesser stands that were a nice upgrade from the early days of using a TV tray, but the Next Level Racing stand is just that…next level! This stand is perfect for my living room setup. I use it with my couch as the racing seat and am always stable and comfortable. The stand is steady as a rock and handles my Fanatec GT DD Pro 8Nm without any problem. No flexing, and no sliding. (I opted to use the feet not the wheels.) No, it’s not a full rig, but for a living room racing enthusiast like me it is perfect! It gives a great platform that allows me to be competitive and comfortable. And…I had a great time decorating it with vinyl stickers, my racing name, and my racing number. The only drawback I can point to is that assembly is a bit of a job, and adjustments are not simple. But, with something this stable and locked down, I suppose that is to be expected. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Still holding up rock solid
Style: Wheel Stand DD
I was looking for a better way to mount my wheel base than the desktop clamp. During 2020 I was playing a lot of sim racing games and it just wasn't working out. I don't have the space for a dedicated sim rig so I needed something small, sturdy, and portable. I came across the Next Level Racing Wheel Stand for DD and ordered one. I got lucky and scored it just before the big dry spell when they were sold out everywhere. I found the instructions to be spot on and never had any issues with assembly. I was fearful it would be short parts but it actually had a couple extra screws and washers. I did configure mine a bit differently. I used the shifter mount area to secure the Thurstmaster power supply to the rig. This cost about three bucks for the spacers, washers, and screws. But it's all in one, now I roll it in front of the monitor and plug in two cords. The base mount allows for adjusting different angles for your comfort and provides a solid mount for the base. The pedal are also adjustable in depth and angle. I had some concerns over this as I'm 6'4" but it's quite comfortable once setup for your liking. I've had this rig for just over three years now and have no regrets. It's still as solid as the day I assembled it. The portability makes it very nice to move out of the way when not in use. My only gripe is that it didn't include the tray for your chair wheels. This secures your chair to the rig so when you press on the break you don't roll back. My wife wants hardwood floors and now I'm in need of this feature. All in all I would recommend this product and would buy again if needed. ... show more

  • Does what it says on the tin
Style: Wheel Stand DD
I am crazy enough to run a DD2 and clubsport v3 pedals on full stiffness on this until I have space for my p1-x and my honest assessment is that it's plenty fine for most people using medium or lower force feedback. The full kit with the seat from NLR is going to be worth the extra money if you need something on wheels that can move out of the way when not in use. Cons: - The assembly instructions were not great, took me about 30 extra minutes than it should have if they were clearer. Total construction time was about 90 minutes having never built anything like a sim rig before. - There are some rattles in the wheel height extension arms. Some shims solved this. - The shifter arm gets in the way of wider office chairs. I ended up removing it for the time being after back pain from a slightly off angle. - You will absolutely want locking wheels on your office chair if not remove the wheels entirely while racing. Pros: - Great pedal deck and all-around adjustments - Sturdy enough for some 100% DD2 force feedback shenanigans - More than solid enough for my ~50% FFB daily driving - Several (non-official) options to mount buttkicker mini LFEs via existing bolt points. I run 2, even 2 might be overkill on this. ... show more

  • Sturdy, solid setup for the mechanically inclined
Style: Wheel Stand DD
People are not wrong, if you require clear direct instructions this is going to be a headache to assemble. That said, it's really good quality and incredibly sturdy. Particularly like the upgrade path they offer so I can eventually move to a setup with a fixed seat when I have the room. Mine came with a manufacturing defect on the shifter arm. I reached out to support, and within 9 days of reaching out I had my replacement part already. ... show more

  • Solid, sturdy, but tough to assemble
Style: Wheel Stand DD
Pros: - This is a really solid wheel stand. I'm using it with a Fanatec Clubsport wheel + pedal set but I have no doubts it would stand up to a DirectDrive upgrade. - The caster wheels are a great addition, it's very heavy with wheel + pedals mounted but the wheels mean I can easily move it out of the way when not in use. - The textured black metal looks pretty slick. So only a couple pros but #1 is a big one, it's magnificently sturdy. I had the Next Level F1GT cockpit before this and that was nowhere near as solid. Cons - Mine suffered some superficial damage in transit. Just some knicks, scrapes, and gouges in the metal. I don't really mind but if you like your stuff to be pristine then this is a bit of a lottery. - It's a really pain to put together. Some of the bits are fiddly. - The instruction manual skips steps or combines multiple steps into one image. - There's a QR code for an assembly video at the back but it just takes you to a list of assembly videos on their website and none of them is for this wheel stand. - I'm using the stand with a chair that sits pretty low, so I have the wheel set to pretty much the lowest height. This means I don't have space to mount the shifter attachment. So there is basically a height minimim requirement for the shifter/handbrake mount. - Did I mention it's difficult to assemble? It took me the better part of an afternoon. A lot of that was trial and error, mounting my stuff, realizing I needed to take everything off to adjust the heights/distances, repeat. Verdict: 3 stars, it's a good wheel stand but the minor damage, the assembly challenge, and the fact I can't use the shifter attachment take some of the shine off. ... show more
