  • Best sneakers I ever bought
Color: Gunmetal/Dragonfly Size: 9.5 Wide
I was sad to find out that New Balance stopped making the 990 sneaker, which is what I found so comfortable before. However, this sneaker is even more comfortable! The toe bed is roomy, the arch support excellent, and the cushioning wonderful. When I was at physical therapy a few days ago, the therapist commented on how nice my shoes were made for foot support. ... show more

  • High quality - durable and attractive.
Color: Silver/Polaris Size: 6.5 Wide
These are expensive but worth it. High quality, comfortable and durable. It is perfect fit for me since I wear X-wide. I continue to buy the same two over and over. I wish the third option came in my size. Great for someoene like me who walks 10K a aay.

  • Why New Balance? X-Wide Widths!
It became painfully obvious that the shoe size I had ordered for years was no longer working. After an online search, I found that the New Balance website has the best foot measurement charts for men, women and children - including WIDTH measurements - that can be downloaded and printed. I discovered I needed an 8 XX-wide shoe. Unfortunately many shoe manufacturers don’t offer Wide or X-Wide widths (let alone XX-Wide), but New Balance does in several styles. I ordered 3 pair, the #1540 V3 (Version 3), #877 V1 and #577 V1. Only the first two fit perfectly. They both have a SL-2 last (narrow heel, deep toe box and wide forefoot). The 577 was too tight across the top and will be returned. I’ve worn the others and they’re so-o-o comfortable. In fact, I’ve ordered second pairs of both. Thanks to the measurement charts I also discovered that if 8 XX-Wide wasn’t available, I could go up a size to 8-1/2 X-Wide for the correct width. It only adds a hardly noticeable additional 1/4” space at the toes. A second option was buying the same styles in Men’s size, but from what I’ve read, men’s shoes are wider at the heel. New Balance seems to have great reviews for most of their styles. The main complaint I find across several styles with mesh is that some develop “toe holes” at the big toes. Mine are still brand new, so I can’t verify that. Right now I’m able to be on my feet all day in comfort. This shoe purchase(s) has been a learning experience, and I’m extremely happy with the outcome. A dozen pair of my old shoes are already out the door and my feet are not missing them. ... show more

  • Great Stability
Color: Gunmetal/Dragonfly Size: 8 Wide
New Balance has been my brand of choice for a long time. If you don't mind a heavy shoe and need stability, durability, and control, this is a wonderful pick. The deep and wide toe box is a plus for comfort. They do weigh about 1.25 lb more than my Brooks tennis shoes and sometimes feel heavy by the end of a long day. But after a few days in the Brooks, I have to return to my New Balance for comfort and support. If you need to wear orthotics, this shoe will accommodate them well. I will most likely buy another pair when these wear out. ... show more

  • Good shoes
Color: Silver/Polaris Size: 12 X-Wide
I go through shoes fast about every 4 months. Still wearing them 6 months later.
Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2026 by The extension is cheap and broke first try putting together. Crack in the light cover. I am using it anyway. It works ok. They need to make it a little sturdier. Mainly one speed pretty fast.price is ok . I would not pay more than $27. 00 for it. Not worth more

  • Not made in US
Color: Gunmetal/Dragonfly Size: 8
Love the shoe (5 stars) but not the misleading information (1 star). I had done a lot of research on shoes that fit my "duck feet," i.e., narrow heels and wide toe bed. This is it -- NB built on the S-2 last. I have one pair and wear them all the time, so I kept my eye out for a replacement. I was also aware that this shoe was not going to be made in the USA at some point. So I saw this listing with "Made in US" and happily ordered it. On the tongue, it lists "Made in Vietnam." (I can't get close focus to show a photo.) The shoe seems to fit the same, but I am chagrined that I was misled. ... show more

  • Perfect walking shoe
Color: Natural Indigo/Natural Indigo Size: 8.5
I am on at least my fifth pair of these shoes. I walk 10K steps every day and have had a broken toe, so I like to switch out my shoes every 6 months. My podiatrist recommended these shoes. They do not wear out on the outside, but I replace them often for maximum cushion inside. I donate the old pairs. In the summer, I do not wear socks and the shoes breathe well. They are lightweight while giving me great support. I do have high arches. Very comfortable! The colors are nice and as advertised. ... show more

  • V2 was better! But V3 is still very good
I have terrible feet - high arches, wide at the toe, narrow at the heel, and very difficult to find anything that fits well. I also have a nasty neuroma in my right foot, and I'm a "super-pronator". About 5 years ago, NB 1540 V2 was recommended at a shoe store that specializes in customers with bad feet like mine. They were game changers!!! Before, I couldn't be on my feet for more than a few hours at a time. But thanks to the amazing support in these sneakers, I could tackle big household projects, take long bike rides & walks, and enjoy an active lifestyle again. I bought V2 a few times, then last year I bought V3. It's still very good, but the fit isn't quite right. Feels narrower at the toe and wider at the heel, so I'm getting slightly pinched at my sensitive neuroma, and my heels slide around too much. It also took weeks instead of days to break them in. After 10 months, there's also a small hole in the fabric on top of the sneaker. Don't get me wrong, these are still better for my feet than anything else I've tried. But please, make them in the USA again, and bring back the superior fit of V2!! When I called my fave shoe store to reserve a new pair today, they told me that other customers have said they prefer the V2 fit. So come on, New Balance -- don't mess with success! V2 for the win. ... show more
