Description

New Balance brings the race day feeling of energy-return technology to a high milage training shoe. The new FuelCell SuperComp Trainer v2 is designed to look, feel, and perform differently. In this execution of new Energy Arc technology, an arched carbon fiber plate is sandwiched between two layers of FuelCell cushioning, leaving a hollow channel through the middle of the shoe. The plate is flattened into the void with each foot strike, and returns energy as it reshapes, creating a high rebound sense of propulsion.

I'm very happy with this max cushioned shoe. It has an amazing rocker that helps with propelling you when you increase the speed, along with the carbon fiber plate. In comparison, I also have the New Balance (NB) Fresh Foam X More v4, which I thought had max cushion... it does have good cushion, but this super comp trainer has the cushion in a more narrow midsole and it's supposedly a different type of foam. The Fresh Foam X v4 has a wider midsole so the foam spread wider. This shoe also has more cushion and a better rocker than the Asics Nimbus 25). I would use this for running in any distance race, but need time/miles to see if I would run a marathon. Here's the problem. What's being sold here is not version 2. It's version 1. You can tell by the stretchy lifted part around the ankle and the upper material design. NB removed the ankle stretch in the v2 (among other changes - some reviewers say stick with v1). So if you are looking for the v2 go to NB web site and confirm the difference (they no longer sell v1), or check out YT review videos. At this point in time there aren't any sellers on Amazon with the v2. Another confirmation is the product details on Amazon's site. The date this shoe being sold was first available is noted as June 5, 2021. V2 debuted around Dec 2022 but available in 2023. This shoe should be on sale. The media could not be loaded. My wife loves these running shoes 👟 she was looking for a new shoe that had more cloud like feel with more support, but were also bright for winter and these fit the bill! These are neutral running shoes and she went up 1/2 size and the toe box has a good amount of room and she hasn’t had any blisters or pain while running in the supercells. She definitely recommends them for short and long distance running! ... show more

The quality of the outsole is poor. This is after just one use. It’s scary to think any object can go through it. It also runs a bit narrow on the toes.
