I'm so happy with these shoes! I just got back from a 2-week trip in which I did a lot of hiking on steep trails. The grip on these shoes is excellent! I didn't slip once! They are extremely comfortable and yet feel very stable on rocky terrain as well. And they're cute! They seem true to size, but I would say that they are not terribly wide in the toe box. I was really excited to try the New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro V7, as they have great reviews for comfort and durability. The shoes look amazing and feel well-made, with excellent cushioning and grip. However, I had to return them because the size didn’t work for me. Pros: ✅ Super comfortable – The Fresh Foam X midsole feels soft yet supportive. ✅ Great traction – The Vibram outsole provides excellent grip on various surfaces. ✅ Breathable & durable – The upper material feels sturdy but still allows airflow. ✅ Stylish design – Looks great for both hiking and casual wear. Sizing Tip: Ordering hiking shoes online is tricky because hiking socks are thicker than everyday socks, and feet can swell after hours of walking. I ordered my usual size, but when I tried them on at home with hiking socks, they felt too snug. If you wear thick socks or need extra room, I’d recommend going half a size up. Final Thoughts: These are amazing trail shoes with top-notch quality. I had to return mine due to sizing, but that was my mistake, not the seller’s fault. Got these for a trip to Iceland and they were great- nice and lightweight and feel like casual running shoes but the waterproof factor was key when walking in the rain, amongst waterfalls and on the beach. the colors helped me pack a strategic blue and black capsule wardrobe too.

Am an Asics wearer. Haven't gotten NB for ages and needed comfort for my achy feet. I am on my feet for a long time and walk alot. Pretty pink, pink is lighter and brighter irl. The top knit section is not water resistant and also let in sand and dirt. Any sprinkle of rain soaks through the shoe immediately and into the cushion, yeah into the spongy cushion. Not a deal breaker on sunny dry days. My pair didn't have the toe protector writing or it was so faint can't see it. I think it's more of a fashion and not performance shoe. Vibram soles are a plus. The sole is great on all surfaces and feet pain is gone since the foam cushion is really substantial and not wimpy. It will give you some height, lol. I prefer low profile shoes and this lands in the middle. It won't slow you down walking wise for sure, not a minimalist shoe either. My feet feels supported and give me some bounce spring to my achy feet and this version doesnt have a significant rocker motion so folks with balance issues can wear it without getting motion sickness or feel out of balance. If NB can offer replaceable cushions it would be revolutionary. Time will tell how long the cushion is effective for daily use, impact and moisture. I go through alot of mileage each day. It's not a low profile sneaker but also not in your face chunky space shoes one where you are feel sneakers weigh like a block. It's in the middle. NB has always been a tight fit for me, not stiff but not flexible so its for walking or running only. Even the Wide doesnt help because it remains narrow at the arch area and give you a little wiggle room width at the ankle and toe area. Also the laces are short, one size does not fit all. Got 8.5, 8.5W and 9. The styles are unique and alot of colors to choose from, from flashy to basic. Not sure how the back fin helps, that is the first piece to be damaged I foresee as I remove my shoes from the back exactly where the fin is located. ... show more

I run everyday and the rocky trails are pretty hard on my shoes but I've never had to replace them so soon. I have wide feet so I typically love new balance shoes but these just didn't last . When I first got these shoes they fit well and provided a lot of support. It's been barely 3 months and they are already falling apart. I'm pretty dissapointed because they were so comfy when I first got them. The laces needed to be relpaced after a month and now the inner lining on both shoes is torn exposing sharp pieces inside that rub against my feet, causing pain and blisters. ... show more

This is my second pair of New Balance Hierro's...I love them, better than OnCloud. I have small thin feet and they fit snug. A little stiff during the first wear but quickly become comfortable. Damaged my knees hiking in the Alps a couple of years ago. Two arthroscopic surgeries and years of physical therapy later, it was all I could do to walk even short distances without experiencing pain. It was my good fortune to happen across a pair of these sneakers while out shopping one day. I feel like someone waved a magic wand!
