These sneakers are extremely comfortable. I was very satisfied that Amazon had the New Balance sneakers in a wide width. I am very pleased at their excellent quality and their good arch support. The fit of these sneakers is outstanding and they feel like they are tailored for my feet. I am susceptible to foot discomfort if I walk too much so comfort and support are everything. The sneakers do have a lot of strength and stability. They do run true to size and are a great value for money. These shoes are comfortable. They did not need any break in at all. I use them for fitness classes and they’re perfect. They fit true to size. I have narrow feet and was happy to see they came in AA. They look nice too.

This is my third pair of New Balance 608 V5 trainers, and after trying a different color last time (pink), I'm happy to be back to the blue version. My previous blue pair lasted for two years and was incredibly comfortable. The pink pair wasn't quite the same- the leather felt stiffer and never really broke in as well- so I decided to return to what worked. Based on an Amazon review mentioning that the toe box could run a bit narrow, I again ordered the wide width and I'm glad I did. The fit is excellent and feels almost custom-made for my feet. As a woman in her 60s who is prone to foot pain if I walk too much, comfort and support are everything. These shoes, along with the insoles they come with, allow me to walk, hike, and stay active without the aches and pains I've experienced in other trainers. I've spent considerably more on athletic shoes over the years, but these are the pair I come back to. They're comfortable right out of the box, supportive without feeling heavy, and priced surprisingly well for the quality. I purchased the New Balance 608 V5 while it was on sale, mainly for weightlifting. These shoes aren't the cutest, but they perform well where it matters most for strength training. The sole is firm and very stable, keeping my feet flat and securely planted on the floor during barbell squats. Unlike cushioned walking or running shoes that compress under weight, these provide a solid, stable base that makes me feel more secure when lifting. Because of that firm construction, don't expect a soft or plush feel. The cushioning is noticeably less than what you'd find in walking or running shoes. The comfort is okay, but that's because the shoe prioritizes stability over softness. The arch support is also fairly minimal. I personally wouldn't recommend these for running since the shoes are quite rigid. If most of your workouts involve walking, jogging, or other cardio, there are more comfortable options available. However, if your main focus is weightlifting or strength training and you want a stable platform for exercises like squats, these work very well. The shoes fit true to size, and I had no issues with the fit. **Pros** * Good stability for barbell squats and strength training * Firm sole keeps your feet flat and securely planted * True to size * Great value when purchased on sale **Cons** * Design is fairly plain and not particularly stylish * Minimal cushioning compared to walking or running shoes * Fairly minimal arch support * Too rigid for running and may not be the best choice for cardio-focused workouts Overall, I think the New Balance 608 V5 is a good choice for anyone looking for a versatile gym shoe with a stable, supportive base for lifting. The shoes are wonderful. A lot of them say they are perfect for being on your feet all day, I am still breaking them in so I can't attest to that. But I love them all the same. I normally a size 8, and I got a size 8 and they fit perfect.

I wear them for the gym, long walks, and everyday errands, and they’ve held up beautifully — supportive, cushioned, and never once gave me sore feet or knees. I finally decided to get a new pair to start breaking in, but I’ll be honest — I’m still happily wearing my older pair and probably won’t part with them anytime soon. I am a corrections officer, so I’m on my feet all day every day for 9-18 hours at a time. These shoes have stood the test of time for me for sure. The pair on the left I wore for a year at work. I debated heavily on getting boots as my next pair of work shoes, but these just held up so well I had to go for them again. I never had foot pain, leg pain, or back pain until I had worn all the support out, and even still I had minimal problems. They’ve proven to be highly water resistant as I’ve tromped through snow, slush, muck, and puddles of sewage with not a single soggy sock. New Balance. Is a favorite for many reasons. Two stars off for an obvious manufacturer defect that has not gone unnoticed: the toe box is definitely too narrow. I have narrow feet. I bought my normal 9.5 medium size and wear with very thin socks. The shoes are still noticeably snug, almost too tight. When other reviews mention this, pay attention and consider a buying a wide.
